Frigidaire Refrigerator Elbow Water Tube Connector 218518700

Frigidaire Refrigerator Elbow Water Tube Connector 218518700The product does what it needs to do. The problem is the price. A complete ripoff for such a small piece of plastic. This is how the manufacturers make their money unfortunately.

KitchenAid Architect Series II KFXS25RYMS 36 25.0 cu. ft. French Door Refrigerator

KitchenAid Architect Series II KFXS25RYMS 36 25.0 cu. ft. French Door RefrigeratorI love my Kitchenaid fridge. I use the produce drawer a lot, which saves on energy use because I don't open the doors for the frequent use items like fruits, vegies, yogurt, canned cat food, and probiotic vitamins. Plenty of space in the French door compartment, and the freezer drawer is huge. Never short on ice. I have had this fridge for six months with no issues. I've never noticed excess noise. The person who wrote the bad review must've gotten one with a problem because this fridge is not noisy by nature. Hardware can and does come from the factory flawed now and then it seems like if the buyer wasn't happy he could return it or have it fixed. This is a good looking appliance, too.

I purchased mine at Sears Outlet scratch and dent for $1000.00. Folks, this is the way to buy appliances in my opinion. Mine has a dent in the side that doesn't show because it's recessed. Big deal...a dent at the bottom about 4 inches long hidden away.

Anyway, on to the good stuff. The produce drawer is great. The shelving on the left side of the door is wasteful. It's one of those things where you look at it sideways and use your imagination...I use it to stash sticks of butter. The frig is roomy. The water filter replacement is handy and easy to do. Never seems to run out of ice. The freezer is deep and holds a lot of items.

I've not had the experience with the noise but it does sound like a fax machine whenever it fills the ice trays. It's humorous actually...the frig sounds like a fax is coming through at any moment. That's only a couple of seconds so it's no big deal.

For $1000 at the Sears Outlet center I am more than satisfied.

Love this fridge. It hold alot of food and we have not had the problems with the noise. All refriderators make some kind of noise and this one is no loader than any other. We love the way it tells you have many ounces of water you are using. All of these new refriderators have smaller ice makers than in the past but this one keeps up pretty good. If you are going to have a party, buy some bags of ice but we have a family of four and we do not have a problem with how fast this makes ice. Overall, it looks great and works great. The whirlpool refridge is very similiar but just not as fancy on the inside but this kitchenaid has a much longer warrenty on the compressor than the whirlpool.

I have had this refridgerator for six weeks. Two sound modules have gone out.(The alarm for the door).

The front has rust streaks on the bottom drawer and both upper doors.

Kitchen aid denies any responsiblility for the rust as " cosmetics are only covered for the first 30 days."

What a disappointment this is, a huge waste of money.

As far as "stainless" goesgood quality stainless steel will not hold a magnet. Magnets do stick.

This is a poor excuse for a refridgerator for a lot of money.

BAD DEAL

The refrigeraor looks good but it does not sound good. The compressor and fan run 80% of the time and are loud. It is very annoying. It appears KitchenAid has stop making its "Whisper Quiet Compressor System." What a mistake I made buying this.

Frigidaire 215846602 Defrost Timer for Refrigerator

Frigidaire 215846602 Defrost Timer for RefrigeratorIf you are reading this review, chance is you are smart enough to know how to fix your fridge. You are also dumb enough, like myself, to buy the fridge in the first place. True it was a cheap fridgem but it has been a hassle the freezer compartment has to been defrost to make the lower compartment cool. This is the second time to replace the timer, so who knows how soon I will need to replace it again. Amazon's service is good, and I am happy with them.

Installed timer. It fit perfectly and is working properly. I would recommend this service to anyone looking. Saved money versus going to a local appliance parts company.

Not much to say. My heater stopped working, and I verified that the timer was not turning it on. Ordered this one. Works just as advertised and designed.

Fridge would intermittently not come out of defrost cycle. Food would start to thaw in freezer. This little device fixed the problem.

Price was great, but sadly it only worked for about three months. Now I'm stuck because the warranty has expired.

Emerson 8 Bottle Wine Cooler

Emerson 8 Bottle Wine CoolerI only drink on average one bottle of wine per week: one glass per day over four or five days (I preserve the rest of it using a VacuVin or the Private Preserve system) and also buy relatively inexpensive wines that don't require long aging. So this 8-bottle wine cooler from Emerson is perfect for me; it also keeps me on a budget I am limited to having only eight bottles of wine at any one time.

The unit itself is attractive and seems to be well-built. The packaging is also pretty sturdy. There are two metal racks that hold 4 standard (burgundy or bordeaux) bottles each, and be aware that long riesling or oversized Champagne bottles won't fit. Also, unlike some other wine coolers, you can't squeeze in more bottles by taking out the shelves and stacking bottles on top of one another. You're pretty much limited to 8.

This cooler operates on the thermoelectric method (also known as the Peltier effect look it up on Wikipedia), meaning there is no compressor and the only moving part is a fan to circulate air. There are three buttons on the front handle: one to turn on and off the led light inside, one to turn up the temperature in one-degree increments, and one to turn down the temperature in similar increments. Each time you press any of the buttons, a digital thermometer lights up to show you the internal temperature. When you press either the up or down temperature button, the thermometer also lights up to show you the desired temperature you have selected.

When I first plugged this in, the thermometer was in the mid 70's. I set it for 57 degrees and it took about 4 hours or so for it to get to that point. I've had this cooler for over a month now, and every time I check the temperature it is 57 degrees. The room it is in gets pretty warm, like to the low-mid 80's but so far this little unit has managed to maintain a constant temperature. If you keep opening and closing the door or changing wines, of course the temperature is going to vary but since I rarely open it (just once per week to get my wine of the week, and then when I add wines to it), the temperature doesn't vary.

So far I am quite happy with this product. It is totally inadequate if you are trying to build a wine collection, but if you need something small just to hold your wines at the right temperature, this fits the bill very nicely.

Addendum: It has been about three months since I purchased this (I actually purchased another one a few weeks after the 1st one). I bought a couple of digital thermometers to compare their readings with the built-in ones. The built-in thermometers say 57 degrees 99% of the time, whereas the readings on the digital standalone thermometers show readings that vary from the mid 58-degree to high 60-degree range. I live in Southern California and it's been ridiculously hot this summer the ambient temperature in the room where these are located gets up to 86 or 87 degrees until I get home from work and turn on the air conditioner, so under the circumstances, I think these units are performing well. I don't want to turn down the thermostat on them because I feel that will be too much of a strain. I'm happy with a level of 58-60 during the hot summer. Just thought I should share this update with readers, though the built-in does not agree with the standalone temperature readings.

The manual said that it would reach the desired temperature (45 degrees for white wine) in 4 hours if fully stocked.I had 8 bottles of white wine in it. After 4 days it only got to 63 degrees. I had bought it new thru Amazon from a company called Discount Jungle. It turns out that it had been made in 2007 and most likely returned but not repaired. Amazon should not be dealing with this low grade outfit.

I got a replacement after having to pay to ship it back the non working unit only to have the replacement also made 7 years ago and not cooling also. Called Emerson Company who told me that the model had been discontinued because it was defective. That Discount Jungle was not authorized to sell their products. ARE YOU LISTENING AMAZON!

Buy Emerson 8 Bottle Wine Cooler Now

This is a good item for the price. It holds 8 bottles of wine and has a small footprint (although it is deeper than I expected). The fridge keeps ithe set temperature fairly well. I have noticed some fluctuation when putting new bottles in that are room temp. It stabilizes though once it brings everything down to temperature.

I would advise potential buyers to ensure there is enough clearance between the back and a wall so the fan can get proper ventilation. Also remember to clean the filter periodically.

I had another small wine cooler that well it whined. This one is almost silent and cooled very quickly. It stays right on temp as well.

Well it holds the bottles of wine but it do not keep them cool enough. I thought that it would be cooler. I wish I could get my money back because it is really not worth it. I got it as a gift and we both relize that we still have to put the wine in the house refrig to get the wine chilled.

Frigidaire FFU12F2HW 12.1 Cu. Ft. Upright Freezer - WhiteFrigidaire FFU12F2H 1

Frigidaire FFU12F2HW 12.1 Cu. Ft. Upright Freezer - White
  • 12.1 cu. ft. upright freezer
  • Adjustable temperature control
  • 3 fixed wire freezer shelves
  • Frost-Free operation removes the need for defrosting
  • Bright interior lighting makes it easy to find stored items

I was actually looking for a smaller freezer to take the overload from my fridge freezer, but for the price difference, this somewhat larger freezer (12.1 Cubic Feet), which is frost-free and has an interior light was a much better deal. I remember my mother defrosting her freezer years ago and really didn't want to have to do that. It's a huge hassle. But neither did I need a big fancy freezer and my space is limited. This freezer really fits my needs. It is not too big (outside measurements: 5' H, 28" W, 26" deep)and not too heavy so it can sit on the little platform in the garage outside my mudroom door. We got it up the stairs on a hand truck with no problem. It's handy for me there and doesn't seem to mind the heat in the garage. It's well insulated.

I am using an appliance quality extension cord to the nearest outlet, which is working fine. We adjusted the front leveler legs up slightly per directions so the door swings shut by itself, which is nice if my hands are full. The door provides a secure seal. It has a pocket grasp handhold for opening rather than a latch. The door can not be reversed to open on the other side.

There are no baskets supplied with the freezer and I wanted those so have ordered some small freezer baskets Chrome Basket (Chrome) (8"H x 11.75"W x 12.75"D) for the shelves to contain my produce sealed in plastic using my FoodSaver. These baskets are a shade too wide to fit two abreast on the shelves, but I got one for each shelf and am using the other half of the shelf for things I can stack and larger items. The shelves, by the way, are non-adjustable, but well spaced.

I knew I wanted an upright freezer, but the extra space offers the unexpected bonus of allowing me to freeze homemade juice pops for the grandchildren (which need to be upright and level until frozen) and gives me room for a cookie sheet holding strawberries to be frozen separately before bagging and other unusual options my fridge freezer never really did (it is always too full).

I haven't seen an electric bill yet to assess the impact and I know it will be more than a manual defrost freezer, but I'm so delighted with this unit, I'm willing to pay a little extra. The energy guide that came with the freezer estimates $62/yr. That seems low, but we'll see. All in all this was a great purchase and highly recommended.

Update 12/14/09

I've now received three electric bills and am even further pleased that there is very little impact from running this freezer. I'd now guess I'll being paying about $50/yr to run the freezer. Another neat thing is that when a bad storm tripped the reset outlet where the freezer is plugged in and I didn't know it for two days, the temp never rose above 21 degrees in the freezer and everything remained well preserved even with no power. When I went to put something in the freezer and saw the light was off, I knew right away what had happened. Another reason to have the interior light, because when the freezer is between cooling cycles, it's completely silent so the light is what tells you it's 'on'. I have a gauge clipped to the outside of the freezer with a probe that attaches inside and lets me see what the temperature is. It maintains a much more consistent temperature than my fridge freezer does.

Update 6/1/13 Just wanted to let folks know my great little freezer is still working perfectly. Even though I sometimes wish I had even more freezer space, the size keeps me rotating things in and out and stuff doesn't get lost in the depths. I also appreciate even more the fact that it's not very tall so I can easily store things on the top of it and retrieve them even though I'm not very tall myself. Since it's in the garage I'm not bothered by that fact that when the compressor is on it's louder than my regular refrigerator. I'm still really pleased with my purchase.

Buy Frigidaire FFU12F2H 1 Now

This freezer does the trick; it freezes. I had to set it almost to the highest setting in order to get the temperature slightly below zero. The factory setting wasn't cold enough. Of course, I had to buy a thermometer in order to find out how cold it was getting inside. It's a little loud, so I am glad it's in our garage. I love the size though. We have a regular size two car garage, and there is plenty of room for it and both our cars. Realize when you order online, you will have to remove the freezer from the wood bolted on the bottom, and lift it off the pallet. You won't get the service you would from buying it from an appliance store.

We bought this based on good reviews. It was fine for 1 1/2 years when it stopped freezing. Not worth fixing for the price paid. We plan to avoid the Frigidaire brand completely now since a new refrigerator we bought recently for over $800 is having issues after only one month! Guess their products have really gone downhill.

I needed a moderate sized freezer with shelves so things didn't get burried in the bottom of the freezer well. This freezer has done a great job after three months and keeps everything rock hard. The shelving works great too and everything is easy to find. Why only four stars?? Although I highly recommend it, you can hear it when the compressor kicks on (which is rare) but it is quiet enough that you can't hear it from the next room. I'm just nit picking, it is a great freezer.

I have it in my garage, it's frost free and works great and was delivered to our door. It's a good family size freezer. I am glad we got it.

Koolatron CC10G Coca-Cola Can-Shaped 8-Can-Capacity Fridge, Red

Koolatron CC10G Coca-Cola Can-Shaped 8-Can-Capacity Fridge, Red
  • 10-liter-capacity mini fridge shaped like a Coca-Cola can
  • Holds up to 8 12-ounce cans or 4 12-ounce cans and a 2 liter bottle; removable shelf
  • Can be used for cooling and heating; self-locking recessed door handle
  • 12-volt adapter and 120-volt home adapter included
  • Measures 11 by 11 by 17-4/5 inches

I ordered this unit for work, so I wouldn't have to keep buying soft drinks from the vending machine. It does work in that capacity, but there are some annoyances with it, and some limitations.

First I'll start off with the positives. It's lightweight, and it's really attractive. It also does cool things pretty well. I can't comment on warming things up, because I haven't tried it.

The negative part is it is quite large for what it can hold. And more than that, the insides don't hold temperature very well at all after you power it down. It warms up way too fast. Also, unlike a compressor based refrigeration unit, this thing is on all the time. Lastly, you are only supposed to run this for 48 hours consecutively, after which time you need to power if off for one hour. This is not stated in the description, but is an annoyance.

So, overall, it's not bad, because it does keep things quite cold, and you can put most things in it (2 liter bottles you have slant a little). Particularly at work, it can save you money, and give you a much better selection than the vending machine since you can bring in whatever you want. You will also get comments on how beautiful it is; it's that attractive. Just be aware of its imperfections so you won't be disappointed.

Buy Koolatron CC10G Coca-Cola Can-Shaped 8-Can-Capacity Fridge, Red Now

I bought two of these and as an electrical engineer I can attest that the circuit board inside the can is cheaply made and poorly designed; the cord heats up after a while and the unit will eventually die. This mini-fridge is defintely a fire hazard. If you buy this, you should invest in a timer to shut the unit down for an hour or two per day, maybe 2AM to 4AM.

FYI:

I also bought the Pepsi Can fridge and it is a beast. I never unplug the unit and it has been running for 6 months now. It is a little smaller than the Coke can (which is great) and it does not have an ugly AC/DC converter brick (not shown) hanging from it like the Coke can does. The Pepsi can's power is converted internally; only a cord is exposed and not any ugly power brick.

Update: Both Coke Frigdes died in less than 4 months of constant use. The Pepsi Fridge eventually died after 7 months. I recommend to stay away from these fridges. They are great to look at but they are NOT made for everyday use.

Update2: I opened up the two Coke fridges and the Pepsi fridge, and realized a biasing capacitor blew in each. I went to RadioShack and bought replacement caps, and now I have my fridges back. Easy fix for those who can de-solder a part from a small circuit board, and replace it with an equal (or better part). I bought capacitors with a higher breakdown voltage (100V rating), so it will be able to take a little more abuse.

I got this for Christmas and it stopped working after 6 months. I called the manufacturer (Koolatron) and they said it only has a 90 day warranty. When I said it's only been 6 months, they said that the refrigerator was from China, so it wasn't warrantied past 90 days. They offered that I could buy a new motor $30 or new AC adapter ($40). Don't buy this please. You can do a lot better without the hassle. I also had to buy a little thing that turned it on/off every night, so the total cost of this thing far outweighs its cuteness.

GE FUF14SVRWW 13.7 cu. Ft. Upright Freezer - White

GE FUF14SVRWW 13.7 cu. Ft. Upright Freezer - White
  • ALWAYS FREE SHIPPING WITHIN THE USA

I recently purchased this GE upright frost free freezer from Home Depot for $delivered (model FUF14SVRWW). Having used it for a few weeks now, I realized that the priced at Amazon for $588 is not unreasonable, if they take off shipping.

Link:I have heard complains that this freezer is noisy and humms loudly. Unless you plan to have this freezer sitting in your kitchen, this is a non-issue. Sitting in the garage, we just enjoy the extra cold storage. The frost free feature means we no longer have smaller and smaller storage as the months turn around, and we are starting to like it saving us time from defrosting and clean up from time to time.

The lock feature is good if you have small kids at home. At least this will eliminate a spot for what might turn out to be a deadly 'hide and seek' game.

The finishing is much more refine than the earlier models, the baskets at the bottom and door compartments makes for easy and convenient storage.

All in all, a great product.

Considered this and purchased at HD in early July (7 weeks ago), put it on my patio. It has worked out very well, not that loud it hums along when its on, but its not like LOUD no way. Holds a lot of stuff I organize it in cardboard boxes by type, has worked perfectly so far, but just in case, got the extended warranty. The outside does get warm (as mentioned in the comments) but it is not hot. If you read the manual, it is supposed to get warm that's how it gets rid of the excess heat to cool the interior. That is normal. So don't go piling stuff on top or you cut down on the efficiency. My only complaint is not with the freezer itself, but with HD and their outsource delivery service. I told them I did not want it deliv 1st thing in the morning. I told them 3 times b/c I have scheduling problem that early. What did they do? Scheduled me as the first stop. It was a problem trying to reach a live person as they were on their way here, but did finally get them to turn around and come later. I noticed on the truck they had laid it down said manufacturing had changed and they can now do that blah blah. I stood it up for most of the day (6-8 hours) before plugging it in, then let it run overnight before putting stuff in it. Leg levelers are only on front since patio slopes we put shims underneath feet to level it out. I love this freezer, wish I had got it long ago. It is an excellent buy and I would definitely do it again. Frost free is the way to go! And, NO, its not loud at all.

Whirlpool GX5FHDXVY Gold 24.8 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel French Door Refrigerator - Energy S

  • Whirlpool - GX5FHDXVY

Got the GX5SHDXV model, similar to the one shown, about a week ago. It was originally $1298 at Lowes, but the floor model had paint scratches, so they marked it down to $1k. Lowes delivered it (an adventure in itself) but I installed it and set it up. So far so good, it's quiet, makes lots of ice quickly, and has the Energy Star qualification that should save $$ on my electric bill.

There is only one gallon storage shelf in the door; I wrote Whirlpool to send me another to replace the can dispenser shelf that I won't use.

The refrigerator drawers slide nicely, as does the freezer compartment drawer.

The paint finish is very good, once I cleaned off all the tape residue from Lowes (why do they do that?) I used auto detailing spray to make it shine.

Buy

I've had my fridge for about 1 month now, and so far it's been working fine. It looks pretty and all, BUT I have to say that I am not very happy with the storage capacity of this fridge. The door bins are curved, so you can fit VERY FEW items in one bin. You can't fit many tall things (i.e. wine bottles after they've been opened) if you have some other things there like milk and/or juice. The coke can dispenser is nice IF YOU DRINK FROM CANS! We don't and there's no way to change out that bin. It's just that my older Kenmore fridge (much cheaper) had a LOT more storage than this one. Too many curves in this model, which really brings down storage capacity. To be honest, the double doors is a pain, too. I'd rather go back to one door.

This was the one item that I did not look at carefully when buying my kitchen appliances. I would certainly not buy it again or recommend it.

Read Best Reviews of

After 2 years and 2 months we have had to replace the control panel twice (replacement panel was faulty and was replaced at no charge by the appliance repair). Other issues throughout the past 2 years include broken door shelves (we replaced), cheap plastic cheese bin on the very bottom of the fridge is precarious and comes loose, and the rubber gasket around the door is flaking off. We imagine it will need to be replaced within the year. I think this fridge is poorly made and would not recommend it to anyone. Our previous fridge was an Amana with a bottom freezer that was a much better quality. We did quite a bit of research before we purchased this expensive appliance and are very disappointed with it's performance.

Requested that Whirlpool reimburse us for the $240 bill to repair (fridge cost $1500+) but they were not interested in backing their "quality" product.

Want

We own one of this model with the monochromatic satina (stainless steel look), and we are moving. To sell the house, the new buyer wanted this refrigerator, so it stays with the house. We are looking to buy the same one in our new home, because it is perfect for us, and I don't want one with any type of water dispenser (either on the ouside or interior). The bottom freezer is the best part. Easy reach for all other items, and plenty of storage.

I owned a Samsung refrigerator for 3 years. However after 3 years we had hurricane Sandy. The power was fluctuating on and off and the voltage was lower than standard and the compressor failed. Samsung was very responsive and offered a repair or a prorated refund. Since it was the holiday season we opted to get a refund, since the repair would have taken too long. We used the money to buy this Whirlpool refrigerator, since Consumer Reports has rated Whirlpool more reliable in french door refrigerators.

My wife has never forgiven me, as this Whirlpool, although similar in size, has a poor interior space design. The door bins are for some reason undersized, even though Whirlpool had plenty of room to provide larger ones. Also, the right slide out drawer in the refrigerator can not be pulled out without opening both doors of the refrigerator. The freezer design on the Whirlpool is also less user friendly than the Samsung. Lastly, when the compressor kicks on you will be irritated by the louder than usual sound. Therefore I will be replacing this refrigerator with a Samsung refrigerator, even though I have a brand new Whirlpool.
