Whirlpool Part Number 67002759: Divider, Pantry Drawer

Whirlpool Part Number 67002759: Divider, Pantry Drawer...But had places for 2. Having 2 dividers makes organization of that giant drawer so much easier. I wish I'd thought to find another one a long time ago!

2 year update: still looks and works great....

...since this replaced a 17+ year old General Electric unit that hasn't missed a beat since day one (and continues to serve in the garage). So the bar is set high for long-term reliability: it needs to meet the "zero service calls in 17 years" standard to compete with the unit it replaced!

Pros:

-Appearance: sleek stainless front (non-magnetic...this will cut down on some of our visual kitchen clutter!) and grey sides. The stainless will show fingerprints, so be aware if kids are frequent users.

-French (dual) door refrigerator area. Doors can be opened separately if you know what side your stuff is on.

-Two produce drawers with independently adjustable humidity controls.

-Full width "pantry drawer" with separately adjustable temperature control. Accommodates a deli tray, a pizza box (a Domino's large box fits easily) or whatever.

-Left door exterior has an ice maker (cubed or crushed) and chilled water dispenser.

-Quiet operation.

-Easy to use LED control panel for ice, water and temperature options; also provides notification of water filter status.

-Good volume (23 cubic feet) in a smaller "counter depth" footprint (although it still extends approximately 3" beyond our the edge of our counters).

Cons:

Please note that these aren't inherently issues with *this* refrigerator, but things to consider if your kitchen is smaller or house is older.

-Water line access. Our old refrigerator did not have an ice maker, so the ease (or *not*) of running a water line to it was not an issue. It became one when it came time to prepare the kitchen for the arrival of this unit. Our cabinetry did not allow easy access from the kitchen sink supply, and access in the basement was restricted by finishing work completed several years ago. If you don't already have an established relationship with a reliable plumber: you'll want to get one! You'll also want to add something extra to your budget if yours is going to placed where there isn't already a water line.

-Height: although this is "counter depth", it is a very tall machine. It's 67 7/8" overall (for the hinge enclosures) and 69 1/8" from the hinge enclosures to the rear of the machine. This did NOT provide clearance under our existing cabinets, so the installer had to remove the cabinet and trim the bottom. As with our old refrigerator, the two-door cabinet directly overhead is essentially lost for use. In addition, the hinge enclosures on this extend more than six inches back...even though there is clearance under the cabinet, there is not enough room for the cabinet doors to clear the hinges. Similarly, between the overhang of the cabinet and the extent of the hinge enclosures: forget about putting anything on top of this refrigerator if its under a cabinet. We made our purchase from a local appliance store. They were happy to remove, trim and reinstall the cabinet. They were also happy to take a separate check for this service. Again: not a problem with the refrigerator, but a consideration for your upgrade planning...and your budget.

-Water filters: Samsung replacement water filters are rated for about 300 gallons or six months of service. At around $30 apiece, you'll be spending an additional $60/year for consumables (in addition to the energy costs).

-Energy: this refrigerator ranks at the upper range of ENERGY STAR ratings for similar sized units: electricity estimates for this unit are 537 KHW/year in a class of refrigerators that consume from 457 to 539 KHW. While it comes at at 20% under the Energy Star standard (673 KHW), I'd suggest that any long term savings from its Energy Star certification will likely be offset by the cost of water filter replacement. This also is not a direct complaint about the refrigerator, but something to plan for in its ownership life cycle.

Nice looking, full featured...assuming it works without problems over the long haul, a nice piece of work from Samsung.

Buy

We needed a cabinet depth refrigerator with ice and water through the door, preferably a french door model. Samsung makes the largest for this price. Electrolux has some but they are much pricier and do not have the rep for reliability. We bought ours locally from an appliance dealer during Columbus day weekend. Just had it delivered January 5th. We got it earlier than needed for the price and the dealer had no problem holding it for us.

Since plugging it in it has worked flawlessly. Keeps the freezer and refrigerator temps where set. Water out the door is cold and has a good taste due to the filter. Makes a lot of ice. No problem in that regard. Runs almost silently. the stainless front panel is beautiful.

We moved down in size from a Kitchen Aid 27 cubit foot side by side so there were some adjustments. On the cabinet depth models that are 36" wide you don't get as much door storage as you would like but that is not a fault of the machine. Just a fact.Something you need to consider.

Update 7/21/2012:

After a year and a half still working flawlessly. So quiet I don;t even know it's running. For just the two of us it is a perfect size. If you have a larger family a counter depth may not be large enough. Keeps the temps just right. Can't say enough about how good this machine has been.

We bought this fridge in March 2010. I did an enormous amount of research before deciding on this model, went and looked at the floor models in department stores, and decided on this one because it's stylish, counterdepth, and had good reviews. It has worked without a problem since installation. We bought it on line for the best price we could find (about $1800 including shipping and handling and tax). No problems with the dispenser (although bigger jugs don't fit), and it can hold quite a lot of stuff of all shapes and sizes. In the heat of the summer, it doesn't make enough ice, so I just dispense and freeze ice when I remember to have some on hand for big pitchers of iced water. Very happy with it.

Update December 2011

Well, we've had the fridge for 21 months now. We haven't had any issues with it at all. All bits and bobs are still functioning, nothing is broken.

My only grumble would be that it's not configured for a large number of tall items (milk jugs etc). I have to move a few things around to usually get a pizza box in but it does fit in! Still very happy with it

Update MArch 2013

Still works, nothing wrong, nothing broken. No issues, no repairs. Had for three years now.

Want

Purchased this refrigerator aproximately three months ago. The refrigerator was installed into a custom designed cabinet specifically for this model. At the time of installation the french doors would not align properly and the compressor was exceedingly loud. I contacted Samsung who authorized a service call. The service technician could not align the doors because the entire refrigerator exterior was mis-manufactured. The technician took pictures and measurements and sent them back to Samsung.to validate his observations. Samsung's response was to declare my warranty invalid, refuse to fix the refrigerator and close off any further communication. The final words from the the supervisor in Executive Customer Relations was that she was the final say, the ultimate authority and that there is no further recourse within Samsung. Needless to say I am headed to court.

Pros It does make cold air and have pretty blue lights.

Cons Non-existent customer service

Extremely loud when ice drops into the hold area from the icemaker

Interior configuration limits the amount of items that can be easily placed into and accessed

Compressor extremely loud (at least on mine)

We bought this Samsung refrigerator a few years ago due to its nice features and design. Since then it leaked and ruined our hardwood floors, the ice maker is not working properly and ice is forming in the back causing the cooling fan to make noises. My dad bought the same fridge and their ice maker quit working. Wow. No more Samsung for us.

GE GTH18GBDWW 18.1 Cu. Ft. White Top Freezer Refrigerator - Energy Star

GE GTH18GBDWW 18.1 Cu. Ft. White Top Freezer Refrigerator - Energy StarI did a LOT of research before I bought this model. 26 out of 32 people gave it 5 stars. Well, I like the fridge fine but it is so LOUD! I know others complained about it, but I wasn't prepared for how noisy it is. My old Kenmore, which I had for 23 years, made no noise at all. I can hear it on the other side of the house. Sounds like a dishwasher running. Even my two cats look up, like, what's going on? And when the ice falls into the bucket, they jump. I have called for a repair person to come later in the week, but based on what I've heard others say, I don't expect anything will happen there. If I return it, there will be a 20% restocking fee (which would be over $108 dollars and I would lose, of course, the nonrefundable delivery charge for a total of $168. Or, I can replace it with the exact same model. The previous reviewer said shame on GE, and I agree. Shame on GE for such a noisy appliance. I thought modern appliances were supposed to be better!!!!!

No refridgerator I have ever owned made this loud and anoying noise. GE offered to replace it with another model plus $226 from me but, the reviews said it made the noise too. Guess I will just have to live with the NOISE. Shame on you GE !!!

I purchased this temperature control figuring it was equal to the OEM control I was replacing. After purchasing this control and opening the box, I realized this was a "generic" control. The screw holes were off by 90 degrees, the original control knob would not fit, and I ended up spending another $48.00 for the correct control. Refrigerators parts change month to month and finding repair parts is always an "Uphill Battle." For these applications and repairs, go with the OEM parts and just make the one purchase for the correct repair part!

Whirlpool W10315283RP Maxima Door Reversal Kit

Whirlpool W10315283RP Maxima Door Reversal KitWe have a stacked Maytag Maxima 6000 series washer and dryer. The doors open opposite directions (the washer is hinged on the left and the dryer on the right). When the two are side by side, that is a smart way to open the doors washer on the left, dryer on the right, open both doors and clothes can be passed from washer to dryer easily.

Ah, but when they are stacked, that arrangement is a pain. Well, unlike refrigerators, Maytag made this hinge a little complicated to switch. This "kit" is required.

This "kit" is a single piece of plastic trim that fits inside the door, between the outer and inner trim piece. Yes, it's an expensive piece of plastic and seems all wrong to have to buy that, but that's the design.

The trim piece comes with step by step instructions in English and French. Two tools are required, a #2 Philips head screw driver and a T25 Torx screw driver. While waiting for this part to ship, it's a good idea to get the T25 Torx screw driver they are easy to find now. Any length will work fine they recommend an 8 inch version, but any size will do. I used a small rechargeable driver with a Torx bit and a cordless drill with the Philips bit for disassembly.

There are only a few minor tricks to the switch. It took me about 15 minutes to do the job, start to finish. The first scary part was removing the 4 Torx screws that hold the door hinge there is a hooked tab that holds up the door once the screws are removed (no need to have an assistant hold the door). After that it's really straight forward removing the Philips head screws. Pay attention to removing only Philips head screws (the instructions said 17, I only had 14 on my door). There are some smaller Torx screws that are not removed. To remove the inner door trim, there is a sort of tab arrangement at the top and bottom, a little persuasion with my hand released one of the tabs, then the panel separated easily. All the rest is really simple. The trim piece from this "kit" replaces the trim piece already installed on the door.

Now my wife is super happy, both doors swing the same direction and it is much easier to transfer laundry from the washer to the dryer.

This kit solved my problem which was that I wanted my washer and dryer's set up the way my hook ups were, dryer on the left, washer on the right. Now my doors open outward which means you can open both and just transfer from one to the other without using a basket and closing a door.

I consider myself good at following written directions, but halfway through the process of installing this I felt lost. A few minutes later, it all worked out. I don't know why they couldn't have designed the part to flip over or, if that was too difficult, why they didn't just include the 50 cents of plastic with the $1000 appliance.

This piece worked very well and was not too difficult to install. It took a little time but was fairly simple. It is a lot to pay for a piece of plastic, but is required to reverse the door on this dryer. Reversing it was such a great thing as my washer and dryer are stacked. I no longer bump my head or shoulders while doing the laundry. Worth getting.

  • Monogram Refrigeration Modules integrate seamlessly with different lifestyles and design needs.
  • Dimensions: 23 3/4"W x 34 1/2"H x 23 3/4"D.
  • Limited 5-year sealed refrigerating system parts and labor.
  • Limited 1-year entire appliance parts and labor.

I bought a house with this refrigerator already installed. Looks nice, but the quality and functionality is really poor. The drawers are fairly narrow so any wider bottle of wine or most sparkling wines don't fit in the shelves. You can remove a shelve, but then it looks kind of odd. After a few years (about a month after the warranty period,) the compressor failed. The serviceman quoted the repair at $950!!!!

At the end of the day, this thing is really expensive for a what it is -a small refrigerator with a few sliding shelves. That it's so expensive with such cheap quality is beyond me.

I have never offered up a product review before. First, this is a very good looking appliance. And while I was never able to get anything near 57 bottles in it it was an attractive addition to the kitchen. However, after only 4 1/2 years service an appliance repairman quoted a cost of $800 $1000 to replace the compressor which in his words "was shot". For the premium price I paid for it I wasn't expecting to see it out on the curb waiting for trash removal so soon. I would like to caution anyone considering purchasing this product.

Similar to other reviews we bought condo with this fridge already installed long bottles don't fit (including the longer beer bombers as well), the compressor failed and warranty was already expired. Service man was very expensive, and his advice was it wasn't worth the expense of fixing it. He made some minor tweaks instead, so now there's a wall of snow on the back wall and it freezes things inside. How can GE get away with selling this garbage.

Want GE ZDWC240NBS 24 Wine Chiller, 57-Bottle Capacity Discount?

As previously mentioned, large bottles don't fit. And, after four years it stopped working. GE changed $100 to tell us that it would be $700 to fix. For what this costs new one would think that it would last many years. Not worth the pice.

The GE 57 bottle chiller does not hold 57 bottles. We had a hard time stufffing 45 standard wine bottles into it. The unit is overpriced and does not hold the bottles as stated. It is basically a $250 drink refrigerator with shelves for wine botles. Once it is cooled to temp, it does not make much noise as it does not come on that frequently good for the electric bill! The drawers do pull out all the way, and the unit appears as it should. I researched all coolers between 50 and 170 bottle capacity, and if I had to do over, I would purchase a much larger unit. There are many for a lot less money with the same chintzy warranty.
