LG SteamDryer Series DLEX3470V

LG SteamDryer Series DLEX3470VAfter reviewing Consumer Reports for several other dryers on the market, I ended up with this one. It seems like all the dryers on the market were OK at best considering the top scores on Consumer Reports were in the 80s. I decided on the LG because of the features and as a set for my LG WT5070CW washer.

My old dryer was a huge upright closet/dryer by Maytag. Since I always lie my clothes or hand dry I though the feature would be awesome in a dryer. That Maytag was huge and did everything but dry my clothes.

The LG is small in size for such a large capacity. It has a lot of features that are somewhat intimidating. It has a rack I can place inside the cylinder to lay clothes flat to dry. It also has a steaming option, which I have used and it is just OK. I didn't decrease my rating because of this because I rarely use steam and I didn't buy the dryer for this feature at all. I have placed large items such as rugs and comforters and have no problems with the dryness. I do, however, like to take out my clothes right when then are still a little bit damp but nearly dry to avoid shrinking. I have had no complaints about the dryer being harsh on my delicates or not getting my clothes dry timely. Just one suggestion and that you must clean the lint trap after every use like the instructions state. For some reason, clothes you think will not provide any lint still do.

I think this is a great dryer for the price. It's only 6 months, but I hope this machine will last me at least 5 years or more!

Personal Mini Fridge Cooler / Warmer - Red

Personal Mini Fridge Cooler / Warmer - RedI loved the size for the office but wasn't impressed by the fact that I would have to turn it off every 48 hours. In additional, it is does not really cool items as expected.

  • Manufactured to the Highest Quality Available.
  • Design is stylish and innovative. Satisfaction Ensured.
  • Great Gift Idea.

We bought this fridge for our new house that we outfitted with IKEA cabinets. Our new kitchen is fairly small and the size of the fridge was going to make the difference in whether we could fit our kitchen table in there or not. The footprint is much smaller and the fridge is taller than regular fridges but there is not much sacrifice in inside fridge space. We shop for groceries for our family of three 2-3 times a week. This fridge is spacious enough for that purpose. If we only shopped once a week, it probably would be a little too tight. This is a European style fridge of high quality. The finish is nice and durable. It is a simple design with a freezer at the bottom and a fridge above it without special frills like multiple zones or humidity control.

Some points

counterdepth, so does not stick out next to cabinets

fridge is at top which is great since you use that more often than the freezer

w x d x h size is 24x27x75 inches (Summit) vs 28 x 30 1/2 x 67 3/8 inches for a typical 18.1 cuft fridge (excl handles)

capacity is 13.8 cuft vs the typical 15.6-18.1 cuft full size top freezer one door fridge

door fits half gallon milk cartons but not gallon jugs

no icemaker but there is a top tray especially for ice cubes

door handle not reversible

doors close very well. Baby cannot yank open doors

Before we bought it, I got all the specs including interior and exterior dimensions and drawings on the manufacturer's website at which was very helpful in our final decison.

The only thing I do not like about this fridge is the condensation. Condensation drips down from the back wall of the fridge to a little drain which is designed for this purpose. You have to be careful not to put a plastic bag or something in the fridge that touches this wall because then you get water on the shelves. Other than this minor issue, a great fridge and would definitely buy it again.

It fits perfectly between the cabinets and does not jut out. It is tall and slim but has plenty of fridge space. Great design idea: fridge at the top and freezer at the bottom because you use the fridge more. Plus side: efficient, very quiet and integrated wine rack. And pretty

Finally an affordable counterdepth refrigerator for my small kitchen! It looks great and works great. I was worried about the amount of storage space but it is so smartly designed that I find things fit just fine and they are more easily accessible. I love the height of the refrigerator which makes most things eye level. The freezer arrangement helps keep items sorted and I was surprised by how much fits in it. The ice cube drawer accommodates popsicles nicely as well.:)

I would have gave it 5 stars if it came with an appliance (90 degree) plug.

The counter depth is really nice for a galley kitchen.

Gorgeous appliance. A+ for design. F for noise level. Too bad, I have to send it back for that reason.

Frigidaire Gallery FGHB2844LF, 27.8 Cubic Ft French Door Refrigerator, Stainless Steel</n

Frigidaire Gallery FGHB2844LF, 27.8 Cubic Ft French Door Refrigerator, Stainless Steel
  • Store-More Humidity-Controlled Crisper Drawers
  • SpaceWise organization system, best in class ice & water filtration system
  • Effortless Glide Crisper And Freezer Freezer Drawer
  • Crushed/Cube Ice-Dispenser Lock
  • 4 Spill safe Sliding Shelves-Saver Technology

I bought this refrigerator in April of 2011 for a new home we purchased. The refrigerator and freezer section seems to be ok, but the ice maker was less than stellar from the beginning. At 6 months the ice maker started to make strange grinding noises and was very loud. It stopped working altogether and I called for service. Fridigaire was less than cooperative in supplying me with a service person in my area and were generally rude. The ice maker started to work again after I shut if off, cleaned out the ice tray, and let it defrost for a while. It worked at varying levels until June 2012 when it gave up all together. Fridigaire is owned by Electrolux. There is currently a class action lawsuit against Electrolux for a defective ice maker of similar design and using common parts. I am currently working on expanding this class action lawsuit to include the FGHB2844LF4 FRIDIGAIRE. I will update this review when I have more information. Meanwhile, DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT OR ONE SIMILAR.

We've had this model since October 2010 and in that time we've had 4 service calls on it, each one resulting in multiple trips by a technician. Every technician complained what a poor design this ice maker is--"you can't make ice in a refrigerator." Either it stopped making ice or it froze up so bad it took days to thaw out. The 3rd call was placed 9 days after the one year warranty expired, so Frigidaire denied the replacement. I complained enough and they did extend the warranty for another year at least. This last call is going on 2 months since it stopped working. In that time the technician has been out 6 times and it's still not fixed. The Techline is telling him to replace the control board--again! This makes the 4th one. I've contacted the store where I bought it to see if they can intervene on our behalf. Frigidaire customer service has not been helpful. It's really too bad because I love the fridge otherwise. It's great having the large shelves and drawers. This was our first ice/water dispenser so we're really disappointed. It's really turned me off to Frigidaire.

This model looks nice and has good space however the ice maker in this unit is horrible. It worked fine for about 1 year then shot craps. We had 7-8 repair visits and after throwing part after part at it we are having to replace the unit (luckily under an extended warranty). The different techs that came out said it was a new design and is very complicated with many moving parts. The design was discontinued by Fridgidaire after this one model year.

I will not buy Fridgidaire ever again nor would I recommend it to anyone. They should have "taken this on the chin" and issued a recall on this unit. Since they chose to bury their heads in the sand I will never knowingly spend another penny on anything Fridgidaire.

Want

I did not buy this refrigerator from Amazon, but I want to reiterate some of the other reviews here. I've had the same issue with the ice maker. I bought this refrigerator in September 2011. First, in January I think, it started leaking water through the ice and water dispenser on the door. I now have to keep a sponge under the opening so water isn't all over the place. Second, it stopped making ice. It appears that the leaking is causing the water to pool at the bottom of the ice holder. This causes the thingamajig not to turn, and it stops making ice.

I called Frigidaire customer service. They gave the names of two companies that service their appliances. The first one told me they "don't do warranty work" and hung up on me. The second one sent someone who said I needed a part that he didn't have... still waiting to hear back from him weeks later.

I also bought a Frigidaire washer and dryer when I bought this appliance. I'm having issues with those too. If I had it to do over again, they wouldn't get a dime of my money...

I'm not sure if we were lucky or they worked on issues mentioned. We've had our fridge since May 2012. It was a scratch/dent model but the dent was in the back.

About six month ago we had a hole in the water hose in back but it was so small we never noticed. We called and had a service person out within the week. I don't think this was a manufacture defect but possibly related to the storage issue at the store.

Just recently our filter finally said we should order a new one.

For the price ($1300-discounted) this was perfect for us.

Kenmore® Filters 46-9010 Replacement Filters

Kenmore® Filters 46-9010 Replacement FiltersI ordered this as adverstised "Replacement Filters" at $49.99, expecting it to be more than one as it was listed as "Replacement Filters" and Sears retails the single filter at $44.00. So when the single filter arrived I was disapointed to find out the ad was miss leading and I was over charged.

Whirlpool 4317943 Ice Maker Replacement Kit RIM943

Whirlpool 4317943 Ice Maker Replacement Kit RIM943
  • Whirlpool 4317943 replaces Whirlpool part numbers 4211173 and 978556
  • Compatible with the following models: ED25DQXAN00 2ET18GMXJW00 2ET18GMXJW01 2ET18NMXJW00 2ET18NMXJW

The good:

1. The ice maker fits in my KitchenAid refrigerator and it works.

2. The price was right: $54 w/ free shipping.

3. The ice maker comes with more wire harnesses than shown in the picture. I'd recommend anyone who buys this, keep their old ice maker as you may want to 'recycle' your old wire harness just in case.

The not so good:

1. The fill cup needed to be modified to accept the fill tube. It's molded in such a way as to make this modification easy, however, in my case when I tried to cut it, it developed a couple of cracks. Sounds worse than it is. Not even a drop falls outside of the ice maker -it's just a funnel. But the quality of this part is suspect they should have used a softer, less brittle plastic that would cut easier.

2. The picture shows two shut off arms (the bent silver wire). Mine only came with one and it wasn't the one I needed. The shut off arm from my original ice maker fit in perfectly, so I just 'recycled' it.

Other info:

1. I purchased this from "Buy-It-Now Store". It arrived in about a week via USPS. I live in MD.

2. What shipped to me was Supco part# RIM943. I don't think this is a genuine Whirlpool part, but it's exceptionally close to the original part.

3. At first it didn't work, the thermostat needs to get below freezing. Don't be alarmed if it doesn't get going immediately.

Conclusion:

Should this ice maker fail in four or five years like the last one did, I'll buy it again. Issues I had were extremely minor. I'd have rated four stars (even w/ the cracks), but not including all the parts shown in the picture isn't right. Had I thrown away my old ice maker (and the old shut-off arm) before this arrived, I still wouldn't have a working ice maker. Seller should change the picture to reflect what actually ships, or change the product to reflect what's in the picture.

This was exactly the part I needed for my broken Whirlpool icemaker. This kit came with several different wiring harnesses and attachment clips to choose from, but in my case, I was able to unplug the old wiring harness and plug it directly into the new unit. I have a side by side and it was a little awkward to remove the old icemaker since there was not a lot of room to work. But I was able to do the whole swap in about 15 minutes. First, I'd advise you turn off the fridge. I removed the three screws holding on the old icemaker and then using a small slotted screwdriver removed the old wiring harness that plugged into the icemaker. I then removed a plastic bracket from the bottom that held the 3rd screw in place and attached it to the new unit. Inspect your old unit to see the if your unit requires a cutout where the water lines comes into the icemaker. This unit doesn't have the cutout, but it is prescored if you need a cutout. All you have to do is use a pair of cutters to remove the plastic so it will fit your fridge. I needed the cutout and while you need to be careful, it just takes a couple of minutes. Check your old unit vs the new unit and adjust the water level screw to match your old unit. Attach the wiring harness into the unit and screw the new unit in place. With three screws, mine was already level. If you had a 2 screw unit, you might want to visually make sure it was level. After turning the unit back on, it took mine about an hour before the thermostat was ready and it started making ice. Some folks have said it took theirs' a whole day to start, but in my case, within 24 hours I had a full ice drawer. Like I said, about 15 minutes start to finish.

This ice maker was a direct replacement for mine (Whirlpool PN# 4317943), even used the existing wiring harness. My OEM unit had an "ice maker plus" attachment snapped to the front that is basically a small fan housing that blows air across the ice tray. The white cover pictured pops off and the ice maker plus snapped right into its place. Three small Phillips head screws hold the unit in place in the freezer, the wiring harness is quick-disconnect type that has a plug on the end.

The device made its first ice in about 3 hours, some reviews do state that it takes 24 hours or so for the built in thermostat to work but that wasn't the case with mine. Local parts houses want $120.00 USD for this exact same unit, you can get it on Amazon for $40+/and install it in 15 minutes. I saved the old unit and extra parts that came with the new unit for future use (parts salvage) if needed.

Update: 08/20/2012

While everything above is accurate the unit has failed in the last few days and is no longer making ice. I'm SOL as its now 9 days outside the 30 day return window as outlined by the seller. I'm going to have to get another unit and try again, still, buying two online is cheaper than one locally. Too bad manufacturers don't make things to last anymore.

Want Whirlpool 4317943 Ice Maker Replacement Kit RIM943 Discount?

We've been without an ice maker for about three years. I had procrastinated for that long, hemming and hawing on whether or not to just buy a new fridge (I'm not this slow with everything I purchase at Amazon). I ordered the Whirlpool 4317943 Ice Maker Replacement Kit RIM943 and set out to install it yesterday, the 15th of June, 2013. Firstly, I broke the handle to the brass fitting in the wall, so I had to turn off the water and travel to three different hardware stores to replace it. Okay that's fixed. Now the fun part, Praise the Lord and thank you Al Gore for the Internet. Youtube.com to be exact. I watched, I listened, I performed and 1 hour later all the tools were put away, incl. my wet vac and the dish towels (2). There was one glitch and that was the "escape slide" on the shipped product was for a top freezer unit and mine is a side by side. I had to further dismantle both the old and the new to change the part in question. That too was incl. in the hour. Not too bad, Ice for under $50.00, another lesson in nothing ever goes exactly as planned, and the cleanest tiles under our refrigerator in quite some time. Thanks Amazon for being my supplier.

It worked and was easy to install. Basically plug and play. It took a couple hours to get the ice but i think that is the cycle of the fridg

Whirlpool Dryer Lint Screen / Filter / Trap W10120998 / 3390721

Whirlpool Dryer Lint Screen / Filter / Trap W10120998 / 3390721
  • Made in the USA
  • Long-lasting, redesigned metal screen
  • Fits Whirlpool and Kenmore 27" cabinet width dryers

The glue keeping the felt band on these filters seem a bit faulty. Don't think it is the fault of the seller but the manifacturer since my original filter and this one both ended up with the same defect.

This item was purchased as a replacement for the original lint screen that came with my Whirlpool Dryer. The felt liner was pulling loose from the plastic frame. After 5 uses, this new lint screen has the same problem! The felt liner is already starting to separate from the frame. I am not happy with this purchase.

I searched the internet for a replacement lint screen for my dryer. This was the cheapest I could find and was a little worried that the service would match the price. I was happy to find out that the service from partshouse is exceptional and very professional. The product arrived on time and in excellent condition. I would definitely buy from this vendor again in the future.

Want Whirlpool Dryer Lint Screen / Filter / Trap W10120998 / 3390721 Discount?

Bought this filter really cheap on Amazon. The appliance parts places, even the local ones wanted $45 to $55 each. This unit is very very good, even has a center support not shown on pic. The OEM filter lasted only a couple of years, hope this one lasts longer, should.

Photo is not what you receive. What you receive is a newer improved version of it. It now comes with a plastic molding down the center to give the screen more strength as to not bend. Newer version of trap is much improved. Definitely replace your dryer filter trap with this one if it needs replacing. Filter trap is stronger, better screen and fits more snug than the factory one that was initially installed. I recommend this vender.

Liebherr CI1650

Liebherr CI1650Extremely expensive product that stops working properly after 2 years. Frost started to build up in the back panel of my freezer, called the customer service who said the warranty is only 2 years and only the closed loop system is covered up to 5 years. He promptly said the problem is unlikely the closed loop system because the freezer is cooling and said good luck. You pay 5 times the price to have things break in 2 years with no warranty. HORRIBLE.

I bought a CI 1650 a year ago and it has had nothing but problems.

--hinges failed due to unreasonably low weight limit for custom wood panels (25 lbs). Even at they service tells me not to put anything heavy on the door.

--ice build-up on the back wall of the freezer

--compressor failed knocking out whole upper compartment

--ice build-up again, replacement moisture sensor did not fix problem. It takes a month from call to repair as there is only 1 service provider in the whole city of San Francisco

--Doors naturally want to swing wide open instead of being made with a tendency to close. Refrigerator was open 1/4" overnight and water came out the bottom all over my new floor.

I hate this refrigerator and the company that is contracted for US Warranty Service. Why does it have to take so long to get service? Liebherr will not give me a replacement for this lemon.
