Maytag 20 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel French Door Refrigerator - MFI2067AES

We've had this refrigerator for 18 months and our ice/water dispenser are doing the exact same thing as the previous reviewer described. Flapping, flashing lights, buttons don't work...piece of junk!

I like the general design and features of the Ice2O, but after owning one for a little more than a year I would not recommend it to anyone.

The ice dispenser flap started opening and closing in the middle of the night. It woke the whole family up and then we saw that the lights on the front were flashing and none of the buttons would do anything. Now, I understand that stuff happens and things can fail under normal use but we had taken very good care of this appliance and this was clearly a design flaw. I searched online and found that many, many people were having the exact same trouble. When I contacted Maytag and explained the situation they responded (several days later) with an email stating "Based on the information given, it appears your appliance requires service" (Really?), and then "We regret that due to the age of the product, we will be unable to assist with the cost of the repair." The AGE? It's barely over a year old! It was built with defective parts! I was also upset that they responded by email. On their online form they make a point to ask how you would like to be responded to email or telephone. I asked for a phone call.

When I emailed back regarding my disappointment they replied back (again, several days later) with "You are a valued Maytag customer and we appreciate your support of the Maytag brand. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to assist you today." Of course the response was by email after I had again specifically requested a phone call in my response. WTF?

In addition to the Ice2O I also own their top of the line washer and dryer and have purchased several Maytag appliances for rental properties. Not anymore.

Before buying, do a quick search online and you'll find that it's quite common for this same thing to happen. It will happen to you too. Don't purchase this refrigerator, or any Maytag appliance for that matter.

I purchased this refrigerator back in October of 2006 when we remodeled our kitchen. The counter depth works great for us, look awesome too. We have only had one minor issue which was the ice maker would not dispense ice roughly a year after purchasing it. The tech walked in and knew exactly what to adjust. The little flap that pushes the ice out of the forming tray into the ice bin had some play in it and it was getting caught on the ice form. Quick adjustment, all fixed. Since then, no problems whatsoever. I highly recommend this refrigerator.

Do keep in mind that this is a counter depth model. It is smaller inside, and the ice maker does not hold much ice. We always have plenty of ice for our family of four but if we are going to have a party we definitely have to buy more.

I puchased the Maytag Ice2O counter depth a little over a year ago because I had just remodeled my kitchen and needed something not so deep to fit in the spot I had planned for it. It is a very nice fridge and have not had any problems with it so far. The only thing I don't like about it is that the ice maker in the door will make enough ice for 2 1/2 glasses full and that's it. No more ice! Also, if you need a fridge with lots of room, this is not the one to get since it is very limited in what you can put in there. I knew that by getting the counter depth that I would be loosing space but the design could have been better to accomodate more shelving instead of the large bin at the bottom of the fridge that is a hassle to get into quickly.

The control board arrived in time and worked. The only problem was that it was a replacement part that didn't match the original. Finally we worked around it and it worked. This should have been disclosed under the item description.

I ordered this part by number and web picture (white). Was sent a different board with additional numbers 5303918476 which was orange and did not work (had different wiring arrangement). Even on my emailed shipment notice the picture was white and identical to my original part. Click on that pic though and you see the orange one this is NOT a replacement for the one shown (at least for my fridge)! Other reviewers seem to have had the same problem.

This dryer is like the Cadillac of Dryers. I love it. With it's countdown clock and soooo many options to choose from. Best dryer I have ever owned.. The gentleman I dealt with went above and beyond to help me. Any questions or inquiries I had he promptly responded immediately. I would use this gentleman for every purchase I make. However, the delivery company was unprofessional in every aspect. The delivery co. called me after they had delivered the product and asked me if I needed a vent and other things. Well, they used my old vent. So I guess I well see how that goes. The delivery company also left behind the empty large box and foam it was shipped in, in my driveway. Not very professional. I called a refrigerator repair service to fix my unit. A guy showed up and wanted $550.00 to install a new compressor. I knew it wasn't the compressor but it still cost me $52.00 for the visit. I checked the refrigerator schematic and check the Internet for the part numnber. I ended up ordering this part its cost was less than the service call and was priced $30.00 to $50.00 less than the competition. The new part arrived in a couple of days had complete instructions. Obviously, I'm happy I've saved over $500.00 by using Amazon.

The picture indicates a direct replacement for this ADC. What you will get is the newer model orange model which will work fine, however you will receive a wiring harness with the package which requires almost an hour to install. Worked fine after installation, but pictured item is no the one you will get.

Turns out the rectifier on the board for the evap fan was bad. Threw this unit in and bam! Fired right up. Awesome deal vs. an 1100$ new fridge. High praise for value and reliability seems ok as it still works today.

Was pleased to find this product at Costco for just over $500; seemed a good value. Has been much noisier than expected. And now after having it for only 15 months, without moving it, it has simply stopped cooling though the compressor runs non-stop. The only Vinotemp authorized technician in the entire Houston area basically said it would cost $200-300 to repair, with no guarantee that something else would not go wrong. He stated that all of these coolers require some maintenance or repair every 2-3 years.

I had shopped around for a decent wine cooler. Target, Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Lowes, Sam's, online, you name it. I did not want to spend $1000.00 on a 50 bottle cooler, but all of the products at the aforementioned places were cheaply made. Not all had wire racks and the ones that did slid out like an oven shelf. All of the wood grain trim items had plastic shelves. This item has wire racks that slide out on fully extendable ball-bearing glides with real wood facing. I think it will hold a full 50 bottles too. It is slightly noisy especially compared to my GE Profile kitchen appliances. Probably as loud as a bathroom vent. Also, keep in mind it is single zone. I think it is overpriced at $1000.00 because I was able to find this product at my Costco Warehouse for less than $500.00. $500.00 it is a steal, $700.00 good buy, $1000.00 plus shipping I would keep looking.

I have a VT-60 which I spent almost $700 for and which died within 2 years. There were no authorized repair places within 120 miles for years 3 and 4. Finally, one showed up within 70 miles. I took my wine cooler there and they didn't even know what a Vinotemp wine refrigerator was. Anyway, they told me I had to order a relay switch in order for them to determine what was wrong with the refrigerator. I have been waiting about 3 months for the relay switch and Vinotemp moved the estimated ship date of the part another 2 weeks again. The customer service representative that I spoke to about this new delay was marginally rude. I purchased a small "normal" refrigerator for my game room for less than $200 and it has run well for almost 4 years. There is something incredibly wrong with the Vinotemp business model which apparently does not include a quality system nor inventory control.

I too bought this model at Costco for 500. Not only was it really loud (I'm glad it was not located in my kitchen) but the compressor DIED after less than 3 years. The technician that came said labor by itself would be $300 and the cost of the compressor would make it more expensive than buy a new one!!! I am very dissatisfied with Vinotemp and other reviews show I am not the only one. I DO NOT recommend to buy any model from them, unless you want to buy a new wine cellar every 3 years...

I have this same model and have never had a problem with it. I was shocked to hear all the horror stories about the other units. I do agree that as a company VinoTemp should do something about the problem. These are expensive units and no one has money to waste! Mine has been running going on 4 years, so I'll keep my fingers crossed!
