I ordered a Whirlpool gasket seal because my old fridge seal had a minor leak at the bottom corner.
A few days later I received the product in an box with no plastic/waste which is not a big deal to me as the seal itself was white and clean. There are some difficult 'wrinkles' in the gasket upon arrival, which were unexpected however understandable due to the size of the box. Just make sure you place it in warm/hot water or use a hairdryer to soften the rubber so you may smooth the bends out.
After the warm bath, I lined up the gasket to the open refrigerator door for sizing, etc. It felt rather weak and noodle-like, albeit I figured it for such an expensive replacement it would do the job and create the seal I needed.
Well the magnetic seal did not live up to that expectation. The replacement gasket doesn't want to grab onto the refrigerator even when forcing contact of the door and the fridge.
I'm not sure if the magnetic striping is either too weak or demagnetized. Either way, my milk went bad and this seal doesn't hold contact on 3 out of 4 sides. In the mean time, I'll just make due with the worn out gasket.
This gasket saved our life... well, not directly, but it saved our food for us to eat out of the refrigerator. Thanks for the availability, it was perfect for our fridge. It got to us on time and packed nicely. Will use buyer again for future needs.

This was an emergency purchase, limited by what was available immediately that would match my other appliances and fit in the allotted space. My ancient Sears Kenmore had been dying, quite noisily, for the last ten years, but was still keeping things within the required non-food poisoning danger temperature range (I kept a thermometer in there to make sure) until I discovered on a Saturday evening that all the ice cubes were floating in their own individual little ice water puddles and the frozen cherries had bled all over the bottom of the freezer. I'd been holding off replacing it for years because of size/space restrictions due to the cupboards over the fridge and the general configuration of my kitchen like in the Cinderella story, the available models were either too tall or too small. I was thinking I would wait until I remodeled the kitchen HAH! Fortunately, I was able to order this model from Home Depot (much cheaper than Amazon.com) on Saturday evening and have it delivered (free) the following Wednesday with free removal of the old one.
The good news is that it's almost exactly like the old one, which I really liked. The bad news is, the "not exactly" parts are kind of annoying. The freezer compartment is slightly larger, making the refrigerator part slightly smaller. Not a big deal, except that since I have a big freezer downstairs, I don't really need that extra space, and it makes the top of the refrigerator section lower it's a good thing I'm short.
There's no middle shelf in the larger freezer compartment (my old one had one), which makes organizing it difficult. There are holes in the walls of the freezer for a wire shelf that would fit around the ice maker (that I didn't need or want, so I didn't buy that), but that part doesn't seem to be available anywhere, so I'm looking for creative solutions in office supply sliding wire baskets and shelves. The bottom of the freezer compartment has ridges that make the ice cube trays and other narrower items tip, but I put the rack from my old freezer on the bottom and that took care of that problem.
In the refrigerator section, the spacing options for the two wire shelves is dumb in one position my Brita water pitcher is tight against the bottom of the freezer compartment (it won't fit on the door); in the next lower position, I have ALL THIS SPACE above both the water pitcher and everything else on that shelf and I have to reach down and lift the pitcher up instead of straight out like I used to be able to do. And then the middle shelf space is shorter, of course. If only there were a shelf position 1½" lower than the second from the top position instead of 4½"... Also, there's a lot more deep shelf space on the door for gallon jugs of milk and liters of soda (neither of which I EVER buy), but that cuts into the shelf space in the main compartment, meaning those convenient 12-pack cardboard cartons for 12 oz. cans of soft drinks hang over the shelves by about a can and a half (OK, I can put them on the bottom shelf, above the crisper drawers, minor adjustment). On the bright side, things won't get lost in the backs of the shelves anymore, cause they're a good 3½"-4" shallower.
The wire shelves are less rigid and more "bouncy" than the old ones. That means I have to be careful putting things in and taking them out because, as I discovered when I was putting everything into my new fridge, bumping the shelves from underneath can have a "water bed" effect, causing things on the shelf above to tip over. As far as I can tell, glass shelves are not an option for this model, and I haven't found any so far that might "do".
Well, at least my food is safely cold and I no longer have to live with the constant sound of an airplane engine preparing for take-off. I'm able to stand in the kitchen and talk on the phone, and the people I'm talking to don't say, "What's that noise?!!" anymore if I absolutely have to walk by the fridge. I find I'm on not edge as much. My electric bills should be lower, too.
I'm sure that if I can find solutions to the shelf/organization problem in the freezer compartment and maybe buy a shorter water filter pitcher so I can raise the top shelf and get more space on the middle shelf, this model will be satisfactory until I finally get around to that remodeling project.
It took me a while to find the right part for my Kenmore 106 model, but this is it. I ordered the Whirlpool 2169373 Capacitor to go with it just in case.
My refrigerator would keep cutting off and not restarting. This part fixed the problem and saved me a bundle of money.
Got the part earlier than expected. Installed it and fixed my Mom's fridge. Works fantastic now. Looked different, but plugged right in. Had to modify the retaining clip slightly but, still worked out fine.
I woke up one morning to a puddle in front of my fridge. "Did the kids drop some ice again?" I thought to myself. I opened up the freezer door and noticed the ice cubes were all gone. What the?!?!?! The fridge had power so it wasn't that. I opened up the refrigerator door and things appeared to be cold. Then I took a closer look in the freezer and everything was melted. NOOOOOOOO!!!!! The last thing I needed was to spend a grand on a new fridge. I'm not going down without a fight! So I got my socket set and ohm meter and opened the baby up. There were plenty of youtube videos that explained what to do and what to test for, and sure enough, it looked like the compressor relay switch was bad. I run down to my local appliance repair shop to get a new relay, but they didn't have any in stock and would take a day to get here! Unacceptable!!! So I immediately fired up my Amazon app on my phone, found the part, click 1-day overnight shipping for $3.99, (for Amazon Prime members) and still saved $20 from what the repair shop would have charged me.
The next day I get the part, install it, and my fridge is happy again. And therefore I am happy again. Once again Amazon saves the day.
My husband installed this new motor in our dryer with no problems. Exactly what we needed, item was shipped quickly and we saved at least 50-60 dollars.
The generic filter is not similar to the original Amana filter and cannot be installed. There were no instructions included so any alternative installation methods could not be attempted. The configuration of the top of the filter is not similar to the original Amana filter.
I have an Amana refrigerator. Have been buying the Amana brand filters for 10 years. Decided to give the Water Sentinel brand a try. They simply don't fit. I'm incredibly disappointed because the box has the replacement model number (WF401) right on it. No go.
The design of the product was not the same as the one it was to replace that I have received before. The one received would not fit into the receiving ring on the refrigerator as it was too large. I had to pay return postage for a product that was not compatible and I feel that the company should had offered free postage for a product that was not the same specifications.
These filters are a recent answer to the expense of replacement filters, and they are NOT the answer. My Kenmore takes filter #46-9014, a number clearly marked on the package of the Water Sentinel. And it does not fit. I trued screwing it in for 15 minutes, finally got what I thought was the "sweet spot", and then screwed it in. Upon trying to get water out of the fridge, water sprayed everywhere and did not come out of the spigot. Bad product.
I purchase these to try because I was tired of paying $50.0 for (1) Amana name brand filter. I bought two of these for less than $30.00. It fit fine and the water tastes as good as the Amana brand filter.
This is a quality product, perfect for cooking for 1-3 people (smaller families, college students, etc.). I highly recommend it. It is so easy to use and fuss-free. Also, most smaller crock pots have only one setting, but this one has three (high, low, and keep warm). It has a nice glass lid and a removable ceramic crock, both of which you can clean in the dishwasher. I use mine at least a few times a week, and I'm very satisfied with the purchase.
This little slow cooker has everything you need: removable crock, longer cord, three (*3*) heat settings, glass metal-rimmed lid, small footprint. As far as I can tell, it doesn't overheat, even on high. I just made a wonderful roast in it: about 1.5 lbs chuck roast (trimmed), 1 medium Walla Walla sweet onion, 2/3 can low-sodium beef broth, 2 Tbsp worcestershire sauce, and 1 Tbsp no-salt garlic/herb seasoning blend; brown the roast in a little oil, put in crock with other ingredients; cook on high for 4.5 hrs or on low for 8 hrs should do the trick; thicken the juice with a little cornstarch for gravy to serve over mashed potatoes --HEAVEN!!!
It's the perfect size for 2-3 chicken breast halves, a small pork roast or a pork tenderloin or two, a nice small pot of soup, etc. You should get enough for a meal today plus leftovers for a couple of additional meals.
Clean up is a breeze with the removable crock, and the exterior of the unit cleans just fine with a damp cloth. The small footprint allows for out-of-the-way placement on the countertop for cooking, and easier storage.
I'm an older adult grad student, and this little cooker is going to get a lot of use this winter while I'm working on my thesis. Highly recommended!
If you're looking for a small slow cooker for dips, appetizers, whatever, this is it. It's got 2 of the most important features to look for in a slow cooker, a removable crock and a keep warm setting. I don't know why, but these features are kind of hard to find on smaller crock pots. I have another one this size that only has an on and off setting with no removable crock. It will never be used again.

It's the first slow cooker I've owned and I have cooked one meal with it only, today, but I like it already. It's $20 and it's basic (no power light for example, which feels odd for any kitchen device) but it has a good quality internal white ceramic pot and glass lid. Three settings keep warm, low, and high and nothing else (no timer, no automatic way to switch from cook to keep warm). I had read that some slow cooker lids rattle while they're cooking, but happily that problem did not show up, on low cooking anyway. I cooked a meal for eight hours, and it did not show any signs of drying out, so I think it will be fine for leaving on low heat during the work day. The internal pot lifts out for serving, and it cleaned up immediately I put it in hot soapy water. Size is fine for two or three servings. I'm now kind of glad I could not get the Breville slow cooker (good reviews but much bigger, and out of production) and opted for this because it's small and simple but it does the job!
This seemed to be a good refrigerator until it stopped running after less than three weeks. I'm waiting on repair Whirlpool couldn't schedule service for 72 hours but the dealer says he'll have someone out tomorrow.

I am very big on Samsung...We now had the RFG297HDRS for almost 3 weeks. Our previous fridg is also a Samsung side by side.
Pros:
1) love the fridg....roomy fridg section
2) LED lighting
3) look and feel
Cons:
1) Not holding temp correctly. Tech was out today and they are replacing the temp sensors. Hopefully this will help.
2) Got eggs? Normally we store our eggs on the top right shelve on our side by side. The dozen standard size egg carton does not fit on the top door shelve of our new refrig. I thought that was annoying. We actually had to put the eggs on the regular shelve.
3) buzzy sounds when power cool is on. The tech checked the compressor, fans, condenser and was unable to find the issue. I just happen to touch the back of the fridg near the freezer section and the sound stopped. I remove my hand and the buzzy sound is back. did that 5 to 8 times and it was consistent. We looked inside the freezer and the tech tighten a few screws from the inside back of the freezer and the buzzy sound is solved.
4) Ice maker: The good: Fast production and ice is great! The bad: Each time it pops an ice get ready to cover your head! You think someone threw a rock at your window. It is loud, really loud! My side by side is whisper quite when it comes to making and popping the ice out. This was just amazingly very loud and I am not over saying this. We have a large house and I can hear it all the way in bed across the entire house. At least your Samsung is making a statement that I just popped out ice ready for you...Maybe voice notification of a pop!
I am happy with the fridg. Hopefully once the sensors are replaced it fixes this temp drift I am facing. I noticed if I unplug the Refrig, wait 10 mins and turn it back on it will display the correct temp then later in a few day the temp drift. I had it set at 34F but the thermo is actually 48F inside.
Bought this during last year black Friday at $1599!! I guess I don't have the right to complain at that incredible price! I have been using this for a month. So far so good! I have read numerous compliant about this fridge on Bestbuy and other website. Yet, I still risked and bought this model (coz I like its size and look). I believe either I am lucky getting a good one. Or, others did not do what it's suppose to do. Per Lowes technician's advice, you gotta dump the 1st 2 gallon of water in order to avoid dripping. Also, after 24 hrs, you should dump the 1st bucket of ice cubes as well. I did those and I don't have any problem.
Also, if you feel the fridge is not cold enough. Press 'Power Cool' or 'Power freeze' for 3 secs...and adjust to the desire temp...something like this. Hope this will help the others! This is a nice LARGE fridge!
I bought this SAMSUNG RF266ABRS fridge because it was recommended by Consumer Reports in August 2009. This fridge and other SAMSUNG fridges should be taken off the recommended list because there is an inherent design defect that causes ice buildup on the evaporator coils.
First there is a rattling noise as the fan hits the ice buildup.
Then the noise stops when the ice completely blocks the fan but then there is no more cooling happening.
There is even a class action lawsuit against SAMSUNG fridges:
Please look into this Samsung ice buildup problem. The Samsung fridges should definitively not be on the recommended list but put on the "do not buy" list. The ice buildup issue occurs about 1 year after purchase. SAMSUNG is not acknowledging the problem and does not help its customers.
Letter to SAMSUNG:
I am deeply unsatisfied on how SAMSUNG handled the warranty policy with my SAMSUNG Fridge French Door Model RF266ABRS. This fridge was defective starting Year 1 and was not repaired appropriately the 1st time. All was done on the 1st service visit was to defrost the evaporator not fixing the problem itself.
Of course, the problem reoccurred 1 year later and every year after that. Since the technician explained the problem, how to solve it and SAMSUNG customer service gave me a hard time because it was a few days over the 1 year purchase date, I dealt with it personally by unplugging the unit and let it sit unplug for 24 hours. Not a satisfactory resolution, just a quick workaround, until I got fed up with losing food and asked for SAMSUNG to resolve this problem once and for all.
First this problem should have been resolved the 1st visit. Secondly I learned recently from numerous complaints and videos on the web that this is a defective design in SAMSUNG fridges that causes the ice buildup on the evaporator.
Here is a video showing the defrost sensor modification kit to fix evaporator ice buildup. This is for the SAMSUNG RSH1 fridge but it is the same modification that was done on my fridge by the repair technician who came to my house:
Many SAMSUNG fridges have the same cooling design thus sharing the same ice buildup issue.
I was charged $104.68 to fix SAMSUNG own defective design! This is outrageous and no decent company would shift the cost from itself to their customers . It shows utter disrespect for its own customers, not counting the monetary damage. Sir, should I remind you that your customers are your most important assets and should be your priority number one!
SAMSUNG should have done everything in its power to help its loyal customers by fixing its defective fridges FREE OF CHARGE.
The technician explained that he had to move the defrost sensor away from the evaporator in order to let the defrost cycle run longer and completely defrost the evaporator from any ice buildup. He also put a wider drain clip. The older clip was too small. It would get iced up and not let water drain away from the evaporator. There is also a new metal clip that attaches to the heating element and goes inside the drain clip to heat any ice there if needed so the drain cannot get clogged. In addition, a new seal kit put on the market by SAMSUNG 3 months ago was used to seal the evaporator compartment to prevent moisture to get in and improve circulation airflow provided by the fan.
This is a really good refrigerator. Shop around and you can find these a thousand less than regular price...

This refrigerator barely fits in my cabinet frame in my kitchen. My previous fridge (25cf side-by-side) had about an inch of space on the sides and about four inches from the top to spare. I measured the cabinet space prior to buying the Samsung but was sure surprised at the size of it when it was installed.
The back of the fridge is very flat... completely sealed off. It does not have space to tuck/hide away excess water lines. Samsung provides a flat three pronged wall plug (more on that in a bit) but the waterlines was a small issue for me. Initially, the Samsung fridge stuck out two inches more than the previous model. After coiling the excess water line and inserting the excess into a small hole in the drywall (with a nice wall plate) all is well.
I read in couple places online that the "motherboards" in these new high-tech fridges can get damaged by power spikes/surges and are extremely expensive to replace. So I ordered an inexpensive single surge protector (made by Belkin) and a flat extension cable to go with it.
[IMHO, the only real alternative (size and space) to this fridge are counter-depth refrigerators (priced a grand more).]
After two days, I noticed a lot of reddish/brown streaking on the stainless steel face. At first, I thought it was dirt from the cloth/sponge I was using to clean the surface. It looked like rust, smelled like rust (very metallic odor) and stained a white diaper cloth like rust. I quickly googled "rust streaks on my stainless steel appliance" and found a simple solution: baby oil/mineral oil. That took care of all the streaking.
The stainless steel is only on the doors, not the sides or the back. The sides are dark grey and glossy similar to most refrigerator surfaces.
Last interesting note about the exterior: The stainless steel on this fridge does not attract magnets magnets only stick to the sides. We used to have magnets from all around the world on the fridge... not any more. Funny thing is, some of my other ss appliances do allow magnets to stick...
Interior:
I think a 29c ft refrigerator says it all for space. The doors have ample storage space and are very solid. Even with four gallons on milk on the door shelves, the door still feels light and solid.
Lighting is perfect. External lighting is also nice. At night it can illuminate the entire kitchen floor.
Operation:
The "Super Freeze and super cold" options work great. Moving from the old fridge to the new one was quick and easy and nothing spoiled in the process.
(This model is a single ice maker.) No issues with ice, crushed or cubed. Makes ice from filtered water.
Fridge temp is 2 degrees colder than the door computer display reports. I guess this is better than if it reported the opposite.

About 2 1/2 yrs ago we bought all brand new home appliances, all SAMSUNG (unfortunately!) from LOWES in Hawaii. Planning to sell our house we didnot buy the extended warranty...After 2 years the refrigerator developed problems:the bottom freezer section, it became all frozen, the technician said it is a COMMON PROBLEM with SAMSUNG, the gasket needed to be replaced++. Also the light went out in the freezer as well as on top, the LED, above the water/ice spout...obviously we got a lemon! the estimate for the repairs was $ 600.00 ++, LOWES said after 7 days they do not accept any returns ( after spending 0ver $ 5,000.00++ we will NEVER shop at LOWES again!) SAMSUNG said sorry, YOU SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY!!!...what an expensive piece of junk! besides the refrigerator the microwave also died, the technician ordered a piece that was still under warranty, but still it didnot work, the repair estimate came to over $ 350.00!!! another piece of junk! bad luck indeed, but honest-to-God truth! we paid almost $ 200.00 to technician ($ 75.00 + tax /visit) for nothing!...now we worry about the stove, the dish-washer etc...
The door on this cooler is poorly designed and will not stay shut. There is a little roller on the bottom that is supposed to keep the door closed but it does not work right. No latch at the top of door to help keep the door closed either. A magnet system would work better as on other units.. Also when you lock the door it still opens slightly and does not seal. The height is also incorrect as listed in their specs. They say the height is 32.25 but it is actually 34.50 and may not fit under your cabinet. The cooler is way over priced and I highly recommend you search for another brand. Look closely at reviews before buying a wine cooler as there are MANY poorly made as this China unit is. Yes, made in good ole China.
