Vinotemp 34-Bottle Touchscreen Wine Cooler

Vinotemp 34-Bottle Touchscreen Wine Cooler
  • Holds 34 bottles
  • Strong black metal construction
  • Lockable touchscreen controls with LED readout
  • Free-standing unit, not for built-in use
  • 6 chrome wire racks plus bulk drawer

I'm a serious collector, with most of my collection off-site at a professional storage facility. My goal was to have something to keep 2-3 cases at home for relative immediate consumption.

This is a perfectly fine cooler to store wine for short term (less than a year). It does not hold the stated 34 bottles of wine unless you have all small bordeaux style bottles. I can fit about 28 burgundy style bottles with ease. It is as quiet/noisy as I'd expect for a compressor model. It maintains it's temperature, and the compressor maintains better humidity than do the thermoelectric models. For what I was looking for, at the price, I'm very satisfied. This is not something to age your wine. It is designed to protect your wine in the SHORT term from common household temperature fluctuation. I recommend it.

Pros: price, attractive, operates with ease.

Cons: a little noisy, poor shelving design, glass is not tinted to protect from light, no lock on door.

Buy Vinotemp 34-Bottle Touchscreen Wine Cooler Now

This is a pretty nice looking cellar that has a fairly low price

Pros:

1. attractive

2. good temp control

3. good price (can actually be bought more cheaply at costco...sorry amazon)

4. NOT thermoelectric...will probably last longer

Cons:

1. doesn't really hold 34 bottles UNLESS you only have bordeaux/cabernet. doesn't fit pinot noir/chardonnay/burgundy style bottles in the same quantity

2. NOT thermoelectric, so if you're really worried about vibration, there will be some. It should be noted that there isn't really any evidence that vibration alone will cause flaws in your wine, most of this is anecdotal or theoretical. Mine did come with little foam dampers on the edge of each rack, so hopefully that absorbs some of the minimal vibration from the compressor

Bought one, about 30 min ago, and I put it right back in my car. It's going back tomorrow.

I couldn't get 5 cab bottles to fit crossways. Turning shelves over doesn't help because you can't fit bottles in the shelf below if you try. The spacing is so tight that you have no options if you're storing anything but the most narrow bottles. (And even those are jammed in... to the point that they're interfering with bottles on the shelf above.) You can't space things out with 4 bottles because the shelves won't allow it. If you invert the shelves, you have to do it with all of them, and the wire support frame won't let the bottles sit nicely.

Non-cab bottle types means you can fit 3 bottles per shelf. They really took any extra room out, and it's a shame. 1/4 inch wider and this thing would be really nice. But it's not. It's a cheap piece of junk.

We got ours at Costco about 4 months ago since it was a bit cheaper, plus the return policy cannot be beat.

Non-standard bottles will give you an issue, but nothing major, just have to learn where to place them, top or bottom. It will also might not fit all 34 bottles, but it will be somewhere between 25-30.

Noise? Yes, it does make some noise, but nothing disturbing, or at least not any louder than our current fridge. What it gets me, it tends to make difference noises at different times. But nothing that will keep me from sleeping or watching the TV (wine fridge is in kitchen, next door to living room, no door).

We love it and are very happy with the purchase, it works as advertise!

If you are looking for an inexpensive wine fridge, this is it.

This unit would work well for individuals with a case or two of wine. It is aesthetically appealing and the temperature controls are well designed, unfortunately it falls short of holding 34 bottles. If you are storing wider based Burgundy bottles you can squeeze about 21 in it. A mixture of slimmer based Bordeaux style bottles with Burgundy bottles can probably hold around 27. If you are expecting it to easily hold 34 bottles, you are likely going to be disappointed.
