Whirlpool WGD8800YC Cabrio 7.6 Cu. Ft. Silver With Steam Cycle Gas Front Load Dryer

Whirlpool WGD8800YC Cabrio 7.6 Cu. Ft. Silver With Steam Cycle Gas Front Load DryerThis was purchased as part of a set. I have been using it for over a month and have not encountered any problems with this dryer.

It had an attractive silver grey exterior and features a lot of different drying options which covers anything I might want to dry. It has a steam feature to prevent wrinkling which does a good job. The dryer's drum is stainless steel which is impervious to stains and the door has a plexiglas window which is nice to have since I have a tendency to check the dryer a lot. I could have probably gone with a cheaper set, but this set had a lot of features that I wanted and it wasn't flimsy and seemed better made than the other sets I looked at in the same price range.

It dries quietly and quickly and the interior is fairly large so it can accomodate a large load. It offers a lot of drying cycles though I still line dry things like lingerie. My only observation is don't pack the machine too densely unless you want wrinkly clothes, etc. Give the items enough room to circulate freely and be careful to dry only similar items together to optimize the energy saving feature.

This is probably the nicest dryer I have ever owned based on all of its features. It is also the priciest dryer I've ever bought.

SquareTrade 3-Year Appliance Protection Plan ($75-100)

SquareTrade 3-Year Appliance Protection PlanWe seldom pay for extended warranty services since the premiums seldom justify the costs. This time we decided to go with SureTrade because their fees were relatively low and we knew that this waffle maker would get heavy use. As it turned out, approximately two months before the end of the warranty protection our waffle maker fell apart. We simply went on the SureTrade web site, verified our warranty period, described the problem. I'm pleased to report that within three days we received post paid delivery label, with return instructions. We then shipped the wounded appliance off and received full reimbursement within a week of filling the claim.

In brief, we would highly recommend SureTrade. In fact we were so happy with their service that we've insured our new iPads.

I tell every one about Square Trade. They replaced my tablet with one that was even better then the one I had. It was so simple.

The only problem I ever had was I didn't know I had to call to activate coverage, but they worked it out for me. Am now working on two more I forgot to call in for my Tract Phones. The price can't be beat. The service is wonderful I will never get anything else without it.

I have a daughter that travels all over the world with her camera so when her last camera died, she was out of the country and wanted it replaced by the time she left on her next trip. She chose the camera, I paid for it, and was ready to complete the transaction when I read about the SquareTrade Warranty. As often as my daughter's camera travels, and as many places as they have seen, there was a good chance that this next one I was purchasing would also travel multiple times out of the country and it would be a real blessing if she had some type of a warranty on it. So I paid the extra money and stashed the receipt away in a file and forgot about it. A year and a half later, the daughter and camera are in Taiwan having just come back from Thailand when the camera dies a sad death. I called Squaretrade and walked through their steps until we got to the point where the camera needed to be returned. I explained that it is still in Taiwan and will be for another month but Squaretrade reimbursed the purchase price anyway! As soon as the camera comes home we will ship it in, but in the meantime the daughter can choose a new camera and it will be ready to leave again when she is! Thanks Squaretrade! It was SO worth it to purchase this warranty and I guarantee I will purchase another one for the next camera!

This is the second time we have had a problem with the refrigerator. There were some scheduling mixups and delays, but SquareTrade was very apologetic and helpful. When the technician finally arrived we discovered the appointment had been setup without billing and I was expected to pay. When I called SquareTrade about the situation, they immediately agreed to pay the technician over the phone. I was impressed.

I was introduced to Squaretrade when I purchased a cell phone on E-Bay. I figured if E-Bay referred them then they had to be good.

After seeing the price was considerably lower than my cell phone company, I started checking them out for other items like electronics, appliances, computers, office equipment etc. Anything that could have an extended warranty.

To my surprise, Squaretrade always beat everyone's price. The real test was when I had to use them for a warranty item. They sent me a postage paid shipping label, and they repaired my item. I have also received a full refund on a any item that was not repairable.

There online site is easy to manage. I can always view all my warranties and manage any claim online. Their customer service associates are always stellar.

I no longer pay for the extra warranties offer when I purchase an item. I just send my receipt to Squaretrade and they take care of the rest. I am going on 6 years with them and I plan on using them forever. Thank you Squaretrade!

SPT Thermo-Electric Wine Cooler with Heating, 8 Bottles

SPT Thermo-Electric Wine Cooler with Heating, 8 Bottles
  • 8 standard bottles/23-liter capacity
  • Digital controls with led temperature display
  • Environment friendly (refrigerant free)
  • No vibration (bottle sediment is not disturbed)
  • Adjustable temperature range: 51 - 64-degree f
  • 8 standard bottles / 23L capacity
  • Adjustable temperature range: 51 ~ 64F

Where do I start? Our experience with Sunpentown has been awful, including a series of emails filled with semantics where nothing was accomplished.

We purchased this wine cooler for white wine. From day one, this unit has never gotten colder than 57 degrees F despite how cold you set the temp. Typically, it ranges between 59 and 60 degrees F.

In our emails with Sunpentown, we were asked questions such as "what temperature is the house set at?" and "How much space is around the unit?". Are you kidding me? What temperature is our home? Did we buy a wine cooler or merely a metal box with a handle to store our wine in? Our home is a cool 76 degrees in the summer. This should not affect the function of the cooler.

In the item description of this unit, it is called 'compact' for 'counter top use'. Why would we buy a compact unit that cannot be placed in a compact space? The representative pointed to the word 'freestanding' in the manufacturers description, which is NOT mentioned in their Amazon listing. He defined it as 'the unit sitting by itself with nothing around it." Oxford Dictionary defines it as 'not relying on or linked to anything else.' As in, not mounted or attached to anything. So Sunpentown is creating their own definitions for words that didn't even appear in the item description. For testing purposes we have the unit 'freestanding' with 36" on either side, 8" in the back and 12" on top. It is still 60 degrees!!

I suppose the real problem is the technology, though they're not admitting it. It's thermo-electric, so there is no compressor. Having said that, I'm going to take a wild guess that it probably warms red wine just fine. But that's not why we bought it!

This has been our worst Amazon purchase experience. We have gotten nowhere with Sunpentown, and after the email shenanigans with them we are outside the 30-day return period with Amazon for this obviously defective item.

I bought this cooler because it fits in a cabinet in my living room. I was worried that it had few reviews, but took the chance, because of its size and price figured I couldn't go wrong. To my surprise, it works very well. It's quiet and keeps it temperature well, and its appearance is very clean, so it would go well with many decors.

I might just buy a second I think I can manage to fill it, too.

Stay far, far away from anything manufactured or "serviced" by Sunpentown.

After five months of owning this piece of garbage, it just stopped working. Just went dead, for no apparent reason. Rather than honoring their warranty and sending me a replacement, they made me SEND THE UNIT back to them, at a whopping price of almost $40 in postage. (Looking back, I was a complete fool for falling for this.) Then they alerted me that the unit had arrived "damaged" but out of the goodness of their hearts they were willing to send me a RECONDITIONED unit for $70. How long do you think the reconditioned unit would have lasted if a NEW one lasted only five months?

I'm now on a one-man crusade to make sure nobody else makes the mistake of buying these terrible products. They're garbage and the company that sells them is unethical. They dealt with me in very bad faith. Do yourself a favor and look for something more solid, with better craftsmanship and most importantly, a company that STANDS BY ITS PRODUCTS AND ISN'T DEVOTED TO RIPPING OFF CONSUMERS.
