It does work I tend to leave them in way longer than the recommended amount of time and it still seems to keep the odor away.

I chose this filter based on price and available. performance has been very satisfactory and I would recommend it . I would order this product again.

These have to be replaced every 6-months or so if you want a good smelling frigerator. You can use baking soda, but these work better. I will repurchase.
