If you know anything about wine, you know you need a steady 55 with 60-80% humidity. This does that very well as cheaply as possible. If the Wine Enthusiast delivery oafs insist on plugging the unit in to test it simply because they fear having to return in the case of a non-functioning unit (we heard "Look, I've been doin' this for a while...I know what I'm doin'") you can tell them to sit 'n spin: read the directions...it's clearly marked ALL OVER (sticker on cabinet, instructions) that you MUST let the unit stand upright for 48hrs to allow gases to settle BEFORE plugging it in for the first time.
Maybe this is why folks besides me are having issues with the Chamber? I love it. It's the best deal out there.
The only legit complaints about this unit are the volume (vs "ideal" sized, non-existent bottles), and the resulting Tetris bottle stacking challenge you're in for. Eh, you get used to it. Other than that: never budges from 54.6 degrees, humidity is working, life is good. I've had it for a year and a half now.
The last annoying facet? the manual indicates your bottles shouldn't touch the cold walls. I'd really like to see how someone could do that....you've gotta be kidding. I just try to have my baller bottles on the inside vs edges.
