Kitchenaid KFIS27CXWH 36-Inch, 27 Cu. Ft. Standard-Depth French Door Refrigerator

I purchased this model because my 15 year old $800 refrigerator needed a $400 ice maker replacement. Just after the warrant expired, the ice maker on this model began leaking. The replacement part for it cost $900. I have an extended warranty, but after having to turn the unit off for 2 days for it to dry out, the technician replaced the part and it still leaks. The technician told us this is a problem with this model. At the time of purchase, we also purchased a range, a microwave, and a dishwasher. Each of them have had to have repairs and each time we have had to speak to managers of KitchenAid before they would authorize repairs and it often requires multiple service calls for repairs to be completed properly. I WOULD NOT PURCHASES KITCHENAID AGAIN.
