GE WR57X10070 Water Valve for Refrigerator

Bought this water valve July 2012. It worked full pressure for about two months, then it stopped working completely now, May of 2013. Based upon the other reviews, you get what you pay for, and in this case, it is a crap shoot. Some are good, some not so much, in this case it gave up the ghost two months before the warranty was up, but I am not even sure HOW to start that process, I didn't keep the packaging after it ran for a month...

This was a genuine GE replacement part. It was simple to install. the first one i got came damaged and had to return it hence the 4 stars.

If your ice maker or water dispenser is not getting water this part can fix the problem. My ice maker was not getting any water to fill the ice tray and this part fixed the problem. This part is easy to install yourself but I recommend that you google/YouTube how to replace a water valve because the part does not come with instructions.
