Aqua-Pure Plus Refrigerator Water Filter (DA29-00003G)

With the cost of these filters being off the charts, I decided to try an experiment. I timed how long a brand new filter took to fill a 16 oz container. I then used it for 6 months and timed it again. Exactly the same number of seconds. Instead of changing the filter as recommended, I used it for another 6 months, and another 6 months, each time timing how long it took to fill the 16 oz container. After a full 2 years of use, it performed exactly the same, telling me it had not accumulated any particles which would decrease the flow of water. This tells me the filter is of little or no use and perhaps just a source of additional revenue for the retailers. I'll buy a new one every 5 years or so. I hope it slows down a smidge by then!
