This is a pretty basic refrigerator, no ice maker, nothing can go wrong, right? Wrong. I am used to refrigerators lasting 30-40 years, this one died in 4. It has glass shelves, decent amount of space considering it is just a 16.5, it is deep enough that I have lost juice bottles in the back for a month or more. But after 3 years it started to knock like I had a poltergeist living in my condo. Service guy said it was the compressor and he would be happy to replace it for $340. New fridges cost $550, so would it have been worth it? I don't think so.
I dusted the coil, no improvement. The fan is still working so it looks like it is the compressor going bad.
Well, I haven't had an ice cube freeze for a week, fridge is still cool, but not cold and my milk isn't very cold any longer. Frigidaire is going to the curb tomorrow.
