It wasn't clear in the ad, but you get both coils in the kit.Historically I have always fixed my own appliances where I can, but for this problem I was ready to purchase a new dryer instead. After investigating the symptoms I decided to give it a shot. After 30 minutes I had them installed and the dryer was back to full functionality; saving me the cost of a new dryer (and disposal of the old one).

Dryer kept taking longer to dry clothes, the flame eventually did not come on at all. Found this product recommendation online and decided to give it a shot before calling a repair technician. Glad I did, once I installed these, the dryer worked good as new. Have done at least 20 loads since installing the parts and this did the trick. One note, in a troubleshooting chart, the company listed a set of resistance values that would indicate that the old coils might be bad. Testing the old coils with an ohmmeter while they were cold gave a result that indicated they were still good. When I tested them after running the dryer for a bit, the resistance values became suspect therefore I bought the new ones. Highly recommended if your glow plug illuminates, but the flames do not kick on during a drying cycle (or if your gas flame tends to extinguish and dryer cycles seem to be getting longer).Read Best Reviews of Whirlpool 279834 Valve Coil for Dryer Here
When the heat went out on our Maytag dryer I looked online and all the symptoms pointed to the coils going bad.I called the local appliance store and they wanted $45 for the part. I checked Amazon and paid $15 (with Amazon being the seller) and had it to my door in 2 days. It took me about 5 minutes to install and the dryer now works great. If your Whirlpool gas dryer stops getting hot, or gets hot once then will not cycle on again, this is probably your problem. Very easy one man job in less than 30 minutes.
