I love this refrigerator. I have owned it for a year and a half (with no problems). Below is my opinion based on each feature:

1. French Doors. I love them. THe left door has a flap that sort of flattens out as you close the door to seal against the right door. Because of the little flap, the right crisper drawer does not pull all the way out if the left door is closed. Alternatively, you CAN keep the right door closed and pull the left crisper drawer all the way out. Anyhow I usually end up opening both doors when i go to the fridge, so it will take 2 hands, but i still love the french door look.

2. Inside water dispenser. Love that too. THe only bad design is the button to get the water is a few inches above the actual dispenser. it is difficult for me to get a glass of water with one hand; i usually hold the glass with one hand and press the button with the other. But i do like this design much better than the 'outside of the door' water dispenser; i think this fridge has a cleaner look. I didn't even notice the inside water dispenser at first, it takes up VERY LITTLE room which is great!

3. Drawer freezer. I like it enough for what I have (bachelorette food like hot pockets and lean cuisines). I expected it to hold a bit more than it really does. I do like the fact that it's wire baskets that hold my food rather than a solid surface; sorta eliminates cleaning. THe reason i don't TOTALLY love this freezer is simply because if I had a bowl of liquid, i would have to be VERY CAREFUL to freeze it (such as an extra water bowl for my dog). Anything you want to be in the freezer will need to move/slide to get it in there i have to only fill the bowl 1/2 full of water or else it will spill when i close the freezer door.

4. Adjustable "no spill" shelves. These are great. Everything is adjustable which is perfect for me. I adjust them quite a bit actually. Also there is a small lip on each shelf so if something leaks, it won't drip down the back wall of the fridge. I like this idea. Also the shelves pull out a few inches in case you have something in the back you need to reach.

Overall this is a great fridge. It also beeps after a few minutes if you accidently don't close a door all the way. Temperature of both the fridge and freezer are displayed at the top inside of the fridge. Very easy/intiutive to adjust. Those small flaws listed above are very easy for me to live with; i would buy this refrigerator again. And, i love the stainless steel look!

Owned for six months. Worked great until starting running very hot. Stopped working all together. Under warranty, obviously, and replacement parts ordered. The replacement parts they sent me were themselves defective and had to replace the replacement parts. Long story short, Thanksgiving canceled and without a fridge for a month. Maytag, which after doing some research online, has suffered dramatically over the years in terms of quality and simply does not deserve its relatively decent reputation they still enjoy. This brand is garbage.

Three month old unit. Made loud noises the evening before the freezer section quit.

After five days , an authorized Maytag technician attempted to repair the refrigerator

only to find that the specified replacement part was too large to place in the

refrigerator.

After working on the unit and talking to a number of people, he called the refrigerator

non-repairable.

He contacted Whirlpool/Maytag and ordered an entire replacement refrigerator (fingers crossed).

Thank heaven we bought an independent extended coverage policy.

By the way, Whirlpool/Maytag has a limited warranty which they were "kind" enough to

cite over the phone that says, even for brand new products, they will not cover "any

food or medicine loss due to refrigerator or freezer product failures". Which just about

says don't put more in their refrigerators than you can eat in 24 hours or so.

We purchased a Maytag refrigerator in July of 2012. It quit working in October. Maytag repairman did not have the replacement compressor that was needed. Home Depot brought us another refrigerator 10 days later. That refrigerator worked until the beginning of May 2013 (7 months later). Home Depot brought us another refrigerator 7 days later. We contacted Maytag after we received the new refrigerator and they were not willing to send us any compensation for aggravation or loss of food. Their customer service to say the least is non-responsive. We will never buy another Maytag refrigerator and we tell everyone we know not buy a Maytag refrigerator. Maytag had to know these refrigerators were defective and they should have recalled them. Home Depot Appliance manager told us there were multiple customers who had issues with these refrigerators.

They're are many manufactures of appliances and our advice would be not to buy maytag!

I was excited to try my 1st french door with bottom freezer at our new house. I was sorely disappointed by this feature--the freezer is VERY easy to leave slightly ajar without knowing it, which happens often with the kids and mother-in-law. The fridge left-side door does not always close completely even with a firm push--you will hear a noise like it is closed, but if you don't check to make sure it is closed 50% of the time it is still ajar. Freezer light socket stopped working after 6 months, not a burnt out bulb. The freezer has pool of water/ice collecting right at the 1-year mark of ownership. Ice melts every day or two and leaks out of fridge and has ruined our hardwood floor. Turned off water supply to ice maker, didn't solve issue. Seems to be an issue with the auto-defrost cycle water leaking into freezer.

If I had it to do over again I would have at a minimum gone with a unit that had an alarm to notify you when the door is left ajar--or I would have gone with a better brand that has a spring loaded mechanism to thrust the door shut every time. I also would not buy a bottom freezer model--even though the freezer is 50% bigger than our last top-freezer model due to the annoying design of the slide out drawers you lost a TON of storage space. Also, the pull out design is horrible for energy efficiency, think of it this way, you pull all the cold items out into the warm kitchen, which removes virtually all the cold air in one swoop. The Energy Star rating likely does not take this into account.

I was apprehensive given the spotty reviews so far. However, I opted to buy one and give it a try. Works great. It was a bit (15 sec) more difficult to get in because of the tight O-ring but I spent more time (another few seconds) getting the orientation correct (with the tabs on top, lining up with the top fridge receiver slots). Once I pushed up and twisted and heard the swoosh of water filling it up, I knew I was good. Ran about two or three 32 ounce cups of water to clean it out and I was good to go. Checked for leaks later in the day and all was good. Would recommend and definitely buy again.

We wanted a French door refrigerator, but were discouraged by the negative reviews alll over the internet about the ice makers in all the brands. We initially purchased an Electrolux frig for $2,900, but the ice maker made no ice...at all....so we returned it. We have only had it two weeks, but have no complaints, which is saying a lot since all my research showed all the French Door refrigerators receiving such horrific ratings regardless of brand. On this particular unit, I read about strange noises that the frig makes but I've never owned a frig that didn't make strange noises so that doesn't bother me. Ice dropping in the tray sounds like ice dropping into a tray...what can I say. If ice consumption is an issue in your household like it is in ours, you will adore this frig. If I was forced to complain, I would suggest to Whirlpool that they put dividers into the wide deli drawer. But that's all, folks.

The kit is very well made and pretty solid. Few glitches: didn't come with the instructions and the faucet connection inside the tower was loose causing tons of foam and hours of trouble shooting. With some hardware from home depot and watching a few how to videos on youtube this is a pretty easy install and a great bbq addition.

I got this set for around 200 bucks and for the past year I have been very impressed with it. All the materials are pretty heavy duty and well made. The regulators for the CO2 and the keg connectors are pretty hefty, as well as the 5lb bottle.

I haven't had to fill the CO2 bottle more than once (I keept it at about 12-14 psi) and I have gone through five 1/4 kegs and one 1/2 keg. Also, a lot of people have questions about where to fill up their CO2 bottles...I use a fire safety equipment supply store and it costs me $20. If that doesn't work, look for industrial gas suppliers or even a paintball supply store.

The tower comes with a styrafoam insulation so the beer in the lines doesn't get warm in the summertime. If you are serious about building a kegerator, make sure you also get a cleaning kit. Whenever you replace a keg you could clean the lines and equipment. Also, since the CO2 is injected at the tap on the keg, make sure you dump out the first glass you pour (the beer that has been sitting in the lines and has gone flat).

The only reason I didn't give this set five stars is because it doesn't come with instructions, and I have made a mess in my kegerator more than once by reassembling it the wrong way.

All in all, if you are looking for a solid setup, go with this kit. Over the past year it has paid for itself considering I don't have to go out and buy 12 or 24 packs of beer anymore.

Water Sentinel WSA-1 Refrigerator Replacement Filter

Have hoped that the taste would get better with use...but no such luck. This generic water filter was a less expensive option, but will go ahead and pay the higher price for the name brand in the future...until then, I am using bottled water.

These filters will not fit the WF40 spec system. The inner ring as stated in an earlier review is too large for the filter receptacle in the refrigerator. Buy at your own risk.

I bought this washer 2 weeks ago after my old top loader stopped spinning. This is my first front loader and I'm so impressed with how clean the clothes are. The cycles times are longer (but the time shown remaining is just an estimate) and I'm not sure about the "sensing" phase which happens in both the wash and rinse cycles-sometimes it's quick and sometimes it seems to take forever but the clothes come out much dryer than my old machine. My favorite part is the fresh hold-it keeps my clothes fresh if I can't take them out right away-especially useful down in my damp basement in this hot and humid weather. The machine itself is quiet even when it's spinning so fast and almost like a jet engine! When the drum light is on it almost looks like a space ship in my basement. I also can do huge loads which saves a lot of time and I can't wait to wash my bedspread using the bedding cycle. I actually look forward now to doing my laundry!!

11/15/11 update: While I'm still very happy with how noticeably clean and fresh my clothes are there have been a few glitches. A few weeks ago the washer would not open and an error message was flashing. It took one week for the repairman to come (with my clothes locked in the washer as no one could tell me how to unlock the washer to get my clothes out!!) When the repairman finally came he said I needed a new motherboard which has been an issue for these washers. I then had to wait another week for the part to be delivered and repaired. (Thankfully by then my clothes were out out of the washer!) It has since been working as usual.

Another issue has been at times the load does not spin as the sensor seems to find the load unbalanced. The clothes are soaked when you go to take them out so you have to make sure you put in an extra towel or something to balance things out and run the rinse/spin cycle. Annoying!!! For the money I expected better especially with a new machine. It kind of makes me nervous about how long this washer will last. I am now rating it a tenative 4 stars down from 5!

We were replacing our 14 year old Maytag Neptune washer which finally died. After talking with a few appliance repair men, they all said to stick with Whirlpool or Maytag and avoid LG, Samsung, and Kenmore (made by LG.) Maytag is owned by whirlpool and the comparable models between the brands are basically identical except for small subtle feature differences, otherwise there is basically no difference as far as parts, engineering, and manufacturing.

Comparing this Maytag model to the whirlpool WFW95HEXW (same washer) we chose the Maytag for purely preferential reasons.

First impressions were:

1) 4.3 cu. ft. capacity is wonderful. We're used to a much older front load washer which had maybe 1/2-2/3 this capacity. It holds a lot and when we put in what used to be stuffed full load, this machine isn't full at all.

2) The Allergen cycle got out pet odors on "dog blankets" that we were never able to get out with our old washer. Just one cycle on allergen and there is no trace of the pet odors. Partially this is due to this washer just being a lot better at cleaning than the old one, but the allergen cycle and "sanitize" options are great for my allergies and for getting out musty mildew odors from towels.

3) It's very quiet. When washing the only sound you hear is the actual clothes tumbling, the motor is silent. When spinning it hums along quietly. It's in our garage but even if it were in the house I would consider it quiet enough.

Bottom line we love this washer so far. We have had no problem and clothes are coming out cleaner than ever.

I recommend you actually read the manual so you understand how to operate it properly. I see a lot of negative reviews different places on the internet because it appears these people aren't using it properly. Just 10 minutes with the manual and make sure you use the right cycles as explained in the manual.

Bought this washer based on rating in CR. It started operating strangely within a week of receiving it. The factory service tech came and said there was nothing wrong. Two months later, it completely died. The service tech came again (after a week wait) and said it had a bad motherboard. That took two more weeks to arrive (the service company said Maytag frequently takes a long time to deliver parts and that waiting a couple weeks was not unusual). Then another week wait for the factory service technician, who didn't arrive within the FIVE HOUR appointment window (A&E Service rep: "When we say the technician will be there between 1 and 5, we really mean that is just an estimate"). So now it's almost four weeks without a working washer.

Brita Refrigerator Replacement Filters for GE

I decided to replace the original filter on my GE refrigerator after about 10 months when the "change filter" light came on. I went to the local hardware store and found a replacement for $49 plus tax. It seemed expensive, so I decided to check Amazon instead and found these along with the OEM GE filters.

I was reluctant to try a filter other than the GE just to save a few bucks, but if they are identical, why waste money? Besides, Brita is probably better known than GE for filters. Anyway, the filter looks, fits and works just like the original. I have noticed no difference in water flow or noise. The water tastes clean and looks clear.

One note as per the instructions you should pre-fill the filter at the tap before installation and then run about 10 glasses of water through the new filter before use to stabilize the flow.

As for the vendor Fridge Filters, I found that you cannot track their packages online as you can with most things purchased from Amazon, but the filter arrived in Florida 4 days after my order was placed. I gave the product and the vendor 5 stars, not that I get particularly excited about a water filter, but there were no negatives to take a star away.

You wouldn't think installing a water filter in a refrigerator is rocket science but apparently some people have had trouble with these filters. We use them and haven't had any trouble. If you follow the instructions you won't have any either. They're pretty straightforward:

Fill the new filter with water. Tap the sides of the filter and add water if necessary, until the bubbles stop coming up.

After the new filter is installed, run the water dispenser for 3 minutes.

It's that simple. We still get a few minor sputters after running the dispenser but that goes away quickly. The flow doesn't seem any less than through a new GE filter and the water tastes fine.

To remember when to change it write the date on the filter with a permanent marker after the filter's installed (so you can see the date clearly).

I have replaced my filter twice already and am looking for a third (4th if you count the one the frig came with). First replacement was with the GE filter and second was with this Brita. I never noticed any slow flows or louder than normal sounds. Water doesn't taste any better or worse than with the GE filter. I stumbled accross these reviews looking for another replacement. I think I will go back to a GE model just to try and make another comparison. This review probably isn't that helpful except to say that the thing worked fine for me.

I have had the GE brand filter in for a while now and it is definitely true that the Brita filter flows noticeably slower. Still can't taste any difference in water. In the future I will go with whichever one I find is the cheapest.

I've used Brita filters many times for other applications, so was excited to find this one to replace the OEM GE filter at a much better price. I'm somewhat disappointed with it however, in that I've only had it a few weeks and can already detect a slight taste in the water. My last GE filter lasted 11 months before I could taste anything. Let me note, however, that this slight taste is not horrible by any means, and I can only tell it's there when I let the water sit for a short time and warm up to room temp. I'm pretty sensitive to water taste, so most people probably would never even notice it.

Several other reviews indicated that the water flow is not the same as the GE MWF. I noticed a slight reduction in flow as well, but it's negligible (unless you're extremely impatient). If you buy this and get NO flow, take it out, and start over reading the instructions first. Fill it with water ALL the way, just like it says. I usually tap mine on the counter a few times to get all the air out of it, and it works fine. If you leave air in it, it's not going to work.

I would have rated it much better if it weren't for the hint of taste that water shouldn't have. Overall, it's a great value. For me personally, I will probably switch back to the GE filter once this one bites the dust, but we'll see.

I, and most of my family and friends, like red, my husband white so the dual zone is great. It did take a full day to reach the proper temperature. Doesn't fit large bottles. When its working to maintain the temperature there can be a very noticeable sound, but otherwise it's very quiet. Only have it one month and I think its great. It would have fit perfectly where my old trash compactor was, but I redid my kitchen before I purchased this product, otherwise it would've looked awesome in that space. So far so good though.

Overall I'm happy with this purchase. It fits perfectly in the small space we have in our dining room. The temperature in the bottom portion is consistent but the top portion never stays at the temperature at which we have it set. Our house temperature is a constant 72 degrees but the top portion of the fridge is usually 10 degrees higher than the setting. I'm not sure why the portion with only 6 bottles has a harder time regulating the temperature than the portion that holds 12 bottles.

Whirlpool 2320332 Ice Container for Refrigerator

Wow is this the worst listing ever this picture shows the product I want (and still want) but what I got was a tiny piece that doesn't even belong to the item shown as far as I can tell. And frankly the only piece broken on my existing ice container was a small metal paddle that moves the ice it broke and repairman said it would cost as much to put in the little part as buy a new ice container. Now if only I could buy a new ice container. Amazon service promised the correct item and then said no they couldn't ship the promised item. I would rate this in the negative as the product sent was not as pictured.

I absolutely hate this washer. I've owned it for 18 months now and every time I use it I regret the purchase. Here are some of the reasons I hate it.

1. It uses waaaaay too little water. When I bought it the salesman told me that the machine fills to the top of the clothes plus 1 gallon. That is simply not true. The clothes stick out above the top of the water by 9 inches. The water level is slightly adjustable by the soil level setting but this only changes the level by an inch or two. I have experimented for hours to try to increase the water level the machine is determined to keep the level low probably so that they can get their highest-level energy star rating. Now you may think that it is a good thing for it to use too little water but when you see how harsh it is on your clothes (item 2 below) and how wrinkled the clothes get (item 4 below) you will change your mind.

2. It is extremely harsh on clothes. When I bought it the salesman told me that the machine is more gentle than older style agitator machines. That is completely untrue. This washer pills clothes visibly with every single wash. Brand new towels appear old and worn after a few washes. Here is why it is so harsh. The clothes throughout the load are wet but they are not submerged in water. Only the bottom of the load is submerged in water. The washer tries to pull the clothes up and down into and out of the water at the bottom. It does so by twisting and spinning them, similar to the way clothes are twisted when you wring them out. This is harmful for clothes. When clothes are submerged in water (as in older washers) the water acts as a cushion against rubbing. The water is moved by the agitator and the clothes glide around in it. The higher the water-to-clothes ratio the more gentle it is on the clothes. The lower the water-to-clothes ratio, the more tightly the clothes are packed and the more abrasive the rubbing is. This washer is the most extreme case of a low water-to-clothes ratio because the clothes aren't even submerged at all. They are wet and rubbing hard against one another. To make matters worse the wringing action, which is done very tightly, is very harmful for anything but the sturdiest of fabrics. Imagine taking a wet shirt and twisting it as hard as you can from end to end in a wringing action. This is what clothes endure during each load.

3. There is no way to wash delicates in this washer. For all the reasons mentioned in 2, there is no setting on this washer that is acceptable for delicate clothes. The handwash cycle on this washer is much harsher than the normal cycle was on my old washer. None of my work clothes can tolerate it.

4. Clothes come out incredibly wrinkled, twisted, and knotted. As mentioned in 2, this washer needs to twist and knot items to move them in and out of the water. When the load is done they remain this way. Bras are all knotted together in one giant mess that takes forever to undo. I have to first shake items out to untwist them and then dry them on a higher heat setting than I would otherwise use to get the wrinkling out. Use of the lower-speed spin cycle doesn't really help much because the problem is largely due to the washing portion of the cycle. The high-speed spin cycle only sets the twisting in even harder.

5. There is no way to change washer settings after the load has started. How many times have you started a load and then decided, "oops I'd rather use handwash" or "I'd rather use high-speed spin after all". Well forget about changing your mind on this washer. This washer goes through an extensive calibration cycle at the beginning of each load to figure out how much water to use. The calculations it does during this time are based on the cycle settings such as soil level, load type, etc. It can't let you change settings once the calibration cycle has started because its calculations will get messed up. Maytag says that all you need to do is press cancel and restart but what makes this so incredibly annoying is that cancel drains all the water from the washer. It often happens to me that I want to change settings after the washer is partly full of water plus soap. To make a setting change I have to throw away the entire load of water and soap. You wouldn't believe the amount of water I've wasted because of needing to press cancel.

6. The soak cycle wastes water and soap because once the soak cycle is complete there is no way to continue using the same water to complete a wash. It gives you no option but to drain the entire tub after the soak cycle. Then when you want to wash you have to refill it again and add more soap.

7. The calibration cycle takes a long time. As mentioned in 5, this washer goes through an extensive calibration cycle at the beginning of each load to figure out how much water to use. It takes about 5 minutes and makes the cycle take that much longer with the only benefit that it is deciding on the "optimal" amount of water to use. I would much rather have the level manually selectable and the cycle 5 minutes shorter.

8. The electronic smarts are very limiting and annoying. The salesman told me "this washer is so great that it won't allow you to damage your delicates". What he meant is that the washer limits your options depending on what cycle you have selected. So for example, if you have the washer set to the handwash agitation, it won't let you use high-speed spin or let you use warm water. Or if you use the soak cycle it wont let you use hot water. Or if you use the soak cycle there is no way to get delicate agitation. There is no way to override their setting limits. How ridiculous! I know better than some engineer at Maytag what options are appropriate for me. To think that they advertise this as a feature?!?

9. The lid locks. Sometimes when washing delicates I like to be able to keep the lid open during agitation so that I can assist with special pieces. This washer won't allow any cycle to continue with the lid open although I did find a way to bypass the lid lock function.

There is only one positive thing about this washer. I like the glass lid because it lets me see how harshly the washer is twisting my clothes.

Some reviewers here have commented that maybe I did not properly follow the instructions about how to distribute clothes within the washer. That is not true. I read and follow the instructions perfectly it doesn't help.

The first day after I got this washer I tried to return it but the store wouldn't take it back. I called Maytag and begged them to tell me how to increase the water level. I tried to pay a service person to increase the water level. I kept being told there is absolutely no way to increase the water level.

I am an electrical engineer and I got so frustrated with Maytag that I spent about 8 hours working out a way to make the water level on this washer adjustable. It requires adding a potentiometer (variable resistor) to the control board that is accessible from the top of the washer. The potentiometer adds an offset of water to the level. Right now I have it set to add an extra 10 inches of water so that the clothes are completely but just barely submerged. It makes a huge difference in wear and tear on clothes and makes the handwash cycle usable. The washer is now just barely bearable. UPDATE: During the past 12 months I have recieved about 500 emails from people who purchased this washer and are searching online for how to increase the water level. They come across my review and email me. I hear the same story over and over again from them. They bought this washer and hate it fiercely and want help increasing the water level. I am including below some examples of the email responses I've gotten to my review. I have not edited these emails these are the exact words of others.

I agree on a number of points w/the original author. My clothing was quite twisted. Also, I simply LOVE when a salesperson tells you the water level adjusts to "your load". That statement has proven to be BS. Given these issues, I still love this washer compared to the devil spawn front loading Bosch I had. THAT machine drove me mad for 6+ years. Nothing is as good as the old days when appliances lasted 15-20 years. This is the first time I've actually purchased an extended warranty on a stinkin' washer/dryer because I don't trust ANYTHING available to the average consumer these days. Pretty pathetic, considering the cost of appliances nowadays and their nonsensical "energy" saving features. These so called energy saving features are pretty much useless.

In replacing our Whirlpool washer, we decided to try a trusted name in the industry, Maytag, for our next purchase. What a huge disappointed from the Maytag I owned 15 years ago. The washer is suppose to save money by using less water and result in reduced drying time. The only thing this washer does is stain clothes because the detergent doesn't adequately distribute during the wash cycle. Also, it is very hard on clothes even in the delicate cycle. Love this machine. The only con is the water level is controlled by the machine and that sucks. As far as I know that`s true of all the new models. It is the stupidest idea in the world. My last Maytag I controlled the water level. Other wise it`s great. Clean clothes-a timer to know then it`s done. Some reviews complain about the balance factor. That depends on the idiot that installs it. It does not a have a balance problem if a competent delivery person sets it up right. My old Maytag got out of balance when we moved it. This new one added the fabric softener just right. It washes them clean and doesn`t tear them up. Gentle and delicate clothes get clean. Bells and whistles for everything. I suggest you check the other reviews at different stores. Most are positive.

The unit itself has no branding or markings of manufacturing company anywhere on it.

The timer is a basic dial that will count-down similar to some of the wind-up devices on children's toys. The point of concern is the pointer will turn Counter-Clockwise past the Zero mark and is sloppy in the chassis at this point.

Bottom line...it works. There are no problems with its functionality and seems to be reliable as I have been using it daily for about 2 weeks. There are little cosmetic and tactile control issues but other than that it is a functioning unit.

No major issues.

Item arrived today and fully meets product description. I unpacked the fridge with my car keys in no more than five to ten minutes. Fridge was packed nicely with about an inch of bubble wrap on all sides (except for top opening). I plugged the fridge in and it immediately hummed to life. Humming noise is fairly low and is drowned out by the sound of air conditioning. Humming also comes along in bursts. It will hum for a bit, then stop. My A/C at work is fairly noisy, so I doubt that the fridge humming will ever become an issue. It appears that opening the fridge may trigger the humming noise if it was silent at the time of opening. In an hour, the fridge was already colder than a 1.7 cubic ft. fridge that one of my colleagues has. Although my expectations for a mini fridge are relatively low, I feel that this item was a good decision at the $135 price point. Perfect for sodas and small lunch ideas.

Update 5/15/2012: Fridge is working great and still looks nice and brand new. Humming noise is barely noticeable anymore. I use primarily for water/soda and fridge can have them fully chilled in under 2 hours.

Update 9/6/2012: Today the fridge no longer works. It worked great for a little over four months, but I expect more than that. It sat in an air conditioned office keeping beverages cool that's it. It was not treated roughly and displays no wear or tear. I'm no fridge expert, but it's clearly not pumping freon into the unit. A Haeir customer service rep stated that it is in the window of their exchange policy. This requires me to fill out a form (that they will send via email), send the form back to Haier, and then they will send me a new fridge. It is up to me to dispose of the non-working mini-fridge. Overall, not a very complicated exchange.

Update: 9/7/2012: Sent return form to Haier for replacement.

Update 9/24/2012: Haier called to inform me that they received my exchange request. However, this exact model is no longer in stock, but they will ship me a comparable model in its place. I should have the new fridge within the next 2 weeks. Other than the 30ish day turnaround, I have been overall pleased with Haier customer service.

I originally bought a Black & Decker 2.5 (which is made by Haier) and it was nothing more than a cooler. Dairy products went bad pretty quickly on high and sodas were cool, not cold. First: This in no way is a 62 can beverage cooler. Unless you have all the same drinks stored, there is no way that you can fit 62 cans and still reach the ones in the back without having to remove all the ones in front.

Second: I use this in my dorm room, and it is very loud--sometimes obtrusively so. It makes a very high pitched whining noise as the compressor vibrates. My friends who have much cheaper and larger refrigerators do not have this same problem.

Third: The items in no way get as cold as a normal, full size refrigerator. Although I did expect this, even at the highest level of "coldness" this refrigerator is not what I had expected. It does keep everything cool, but certain items such as milk will not keep very long since the bacteria grow faster in the warmer environment. This aspect of the refrigerator was disappointing.

I rate this as a 3 star because, even with its flaws, it is a very nice looking unit. I wanted something that was visually appealing, and that is what I got. Its a nice fridge, but for the same amount of money (plus S&H) I can get a much larger fridge at my local "big box" store that even has a separate freezer.

Do I have buyer's remorse? Occasionally, yes.

These are the standard filters used in many refrigerators like my Whirlpool. They filter all the water used in the ice maker and the in-door water dispenser just as you would expect them to do.

The 3-pack of these is a great maoney saving costing only about $5 more than buying two of them individually.

They only rate about a 4 in the star system because they never last as long as Whirlpool says they should. The owner's manual says about 5-6 months with the sort of use we put them to, and the "change me" light comes on at about the 5 month time, and the water flow through begins to diminish about the same time. But, changing the filter at the 4-month point keeps the water taste top notch. Waiting that extra month or so gives you water that isn't as clean tasting.

Ah, well. At least you save money buying in bulk.

Like some other reviewers recently, I did not receive a genuine Whirlpool filter as pictured in the description. I received a "Water Sentinel" brand filter. I does fit the refrigerator--mine takes the filter in the lower grille (but it's a Kenmore made by Whirlpool). However, it's not what I believed I was purchasing. The filter itself is very lightweight which makes me question if there's as much going on on the inside as there is in a genuine whirlpool filter. Yes, the price is cheap. No, I'm not going through the hassle of returning it. But buyer beware! :(

We moved into a new home which has a 9 yr-old fridge and needed replacement filters. The price on these was great, shipped fast and all of the filters were factory sealed. That being said, after installing the first filter and using it for about a week we noticed something definitely didn't taste right about the water. I took out the filter, which had developed a dime sized rust-looking spot on it (on the outer white mesh). I replaced it with another one of the filters, and we already can taste a difference. So it appears we had a "dud" filter and not sure how many of the remaining ones could be the same.. I'm still rating this 3 stars due to the price/quantity and fast shipping. Even if we only get 1-2 good filters, it's still cheaper than one retail filter at Lowes or Home Depot.

I bought a 6 pack of these Frigidaire water filters so I would have enough to last 2-3 years.

They can be used for approximately 6 months before needed replacement. I did notice that the

filters really should be changed maybe around 4-5 months instead. The signs of it needed changing

is when the water flow seems slower and the stream is not as forceful as normal. They are very

easy to remove and replace in my Frigidaire side by side. When I saw how much Lowes wanted for

the same filters, I decided to purchase these on Amazon from a trusted seller.

I highly recommend these filters for general water filtering.

If you want a special filter that removes all chemicals including Fluorine, be prepared to

spend a lot more.

We have a residential refrigerator with water on the front in an office of about 15 people. The water and ice get used heavily. Originally, we were waiting for the "Filter" warning to come on before changing it and were buying the filters retail. Those were incredibly expensive, plus the water always started tasting bad long before the light came on. We'd also have issues where the flow would get weaker and weaker.

After a bit of research, it became clear that due to our volume, we need to be changing the filter more often. Since I ordered a six-pack of these filters, I have been changing it every two months. That works perfectly...the reminder comes up on my calendar just as I'm starting to taste a decrease in water quality.

To be clear, I am NOT saying that these filters won't last 6-months in a normal, home kitchen environment. They just don't for our office since we probably filter more water in a day than would be used in a week at home.

After a lot of trial and error, my opinion is that you should change the filter when the water starts to takes less pure and/or the flow is significantly decreased.

These filters work great and the cost makes more frequent changing of them affordable.
